Are we actuually celebrate the criminal element? Are we promoting crime whether intentional or not?
I resembling the GTA games because of the way they play but I won't own them outright because of what they represent. Dexter is my favorite TV show...so I'm not above this or person judgemental. Just curious.

Hollywood surely uses criminals/fighting as a vehicle to make movies, but I would hesistate to utter all the movies you mentioned above "celebrate" criminals. In American Gangster and Godfather, even though the key character are criminals, they lose profoundly in the movie. The Godfather loses his house, children, loved ones and human characteristics. The main individuality in American Gangster loses his freedom. Not simply that, the crooked cops were more of a criminal than the heroine drug lord. They lost their job, dignitiy, freedom, and life. A lot of movies do portray criminals surrounded by a "not so great light."
As for GTA, where on earth the game itself does f¨ēte criminals, the game itself is controversial. Of course teenages/YA simply view it as a winter sport (hopefully), Adults make such an uproar of what it stands for. But it's only a game; I hope relatives know this. Just because I play it doesn't represent my morals and ideals!

Its a difficult one, because aside from banning guns and making possession informal harsher sentences etc theres not an awful lot we can do except walk aroudn wearing bullet proof vests. I guess it adjectives boils down to up bringing and education. But how can we even hold control of that since we lost control of our borders. I read somewhere that immigrants from time of war torn countries tend to have post traumatic stress disorder or something and that the belligerence in their upbringing affects them, and their way of life is rubbing off youths around the country. Thats no excuse for our national that decide to convey guns and shoot etc but it does present a question that desires to be answered. What is the source of the problem? Is it shooting games? is it rappers glorfiying gun crime? is it immigrants? we dont know, and until we find out we cant start to tackle it.
