My husband is settling a Workman's comp claim. can he still go to the Dr's. about his problem.?

Answers: If your husband settles with his workplace, he will sign a form releasing them of further responsibility of his medical prudence on the matter. So, if he does dance to the doctor, his workplace will have no responsibility to retribution. If he still requires medical care, possibly it's not time to settle yet.
As far as your personal form insurance goes, I don't see why it would be a problem as long as you take-home pay your deductible and co-pays, but to know for sure, you will need to ask your insurance carter.

Answers: Seems to me that it would be a better case of sexual harrying than of HIPPA violations.
Suppose she did record a complaint, then the boss could vote that she told the boss, so she effectively violated her own privacy.
However, since the boss not only repeated the private medical information, but also repeated it to others while making crude and sexually harassing comments around it, I think that going that route would be easier to prove and more fruitful as far as punishing the boss. Tell your friend to contact a attorney who specializes in sexual maltreatment -- I think that if she get a lawyer and decide to sue, that HIPPA will certainlu be mentioned, but I think sexual harrying charges will go farther.
It depends on whether the friend be a patient of the hospital. HIPAA single protects the information of patients, not of employees. Also, if the supervisor discussed it near someone else because that person might hold needed to know the information (e.g. someone involved in potentially hiring a replacement if your friend requirements to take a give up your job of absence) then in attendance would be no liability I believe.

HIPPA doesn't apply to inter office gossip- individual to providers who have actual access to people's medical collection and 1st hand comprehension of the patients condition.
