I want to be a lawyer, but...?
Well, I want to be a attorney after high college.My questions are:
-Specifically, what do lawyer do? Do they sit at home all year researching their case prior to the trial?
-How oodles years do I have to study on AVERAGE?
-Is it a easier said than done job?

What you do as a lawyer depends on what character of law you practice. Most general public don't know what kind of directive they want to practice until later within life. I agree near the other answers especially Rickinno. I am a Public Defender and clients do act exactly approaching his example but it beats running around doing mundane tasks. My crust load is extremely big and I win more cases than I should because the State Attorney's office here have even more turn over than we do. The Federal Government has a moment ago passed a bill (House did but waiting on Senate) that will pay sour all student loans for public defender and state attorneys. If you get a moral score on the LSAT and a soaring GPA in undergraduate institution you can get a grant to law university as well. Most attorneys dance into an office and work or Court. A typical suitcase load for me is between 200-300 clients. 1 week I own Court Hearings like arraignments (people are advise of their charges and appointed to our office if they can't afford to hire a private attorney), Motions, Pre-trials, etc. I join with clients and we plan their cases. I discuss adjectives of the options resembling for a DUI--whether the officer had probable explanation to stop the driver, was it videotape, the breath test results. The client may want to plea no contest or guilty, hold a trial, or negotiate for an amended charge.

Why do so many individuals sue each other?
What is wrong beside people at the present time suing for 60 million cause your wife died? Or sue McDonalds rationale you spilled your coffee you thought might be cold?Is it to the point where money is adjectives that matters to these associates?

I make out some suits like if my wife died due to some company deliberately being neglegent and they refuse to pay for the funeral I'd sue but solely for the funeral costs and attorney fees . Or sueing for hospital fees but why millions of dollars?

Drivers Education/ Learners Permit/ Road Experience- Help!?
My son is 16 years old and requests me to enroll him in a course for a Learner's Permit lone. According to the DMV website the law states that a personage needs to complete 7 hours of "road experience" Can a drivers institution just charge for the 7 hours seperately? I other thought that any drivers ed class includes the learners permission as well. (i live in iowa) after we need to drive between after and 16 to get our license. however to gain our license we need to complete so heaps hours of day and dark driving with a parent and after complete drivers ed. you should just agree to your son drive everywhere so he does have the driving experience previously he gets his license
we own to drive with a parent when we are 14 so its not that big of a operate. i think it give us more time to be better drivers when we are on our own at age 16. also a large majority of folks where i am from (a really small town--pretty much adjectives of iowa is) we grew up driving tractors and 4-wheelers and trucks around the farm.

Drivers Ed qualify a minor to take the essential written test for the learner permit ONLY.
Road Experience is a different course. Some school offer it, some don't.
My kids academy didn't - they did Drivers Ed and got their permit through their school, afterwards had to do the 7 hours of professional on-road training near a driving school, plus the hours (20, I have an idea that?) that they had to do near me or their Mom before they could receive their provisional license.

Half the time the stuff on the websites be confusing. The best thing for you to do is for you to shift to the Driver's Ed office at the local arts school and maybe the DMV bureau.

Answers: Unless you are under contract or a trucker, no
NC is a hire at will/fire at will state. This finances that if your employer asks you to work 15 hours a day and you junk, he can fire you for that and doesnt have to provide you a reason. You can also quit on the spot if your boss asks you to work 15 hours a time.
While NC does not have a set max number of hours a morning (for adults) that you are allowed to work, they do however have to settle you time and a half if you work more than 40 hours contained by one week. (Unless you are considered exempt for some reason.. close to you're salary, etc). Interestingly , NC also does not require breakfast time or break times be offered unless you're under 16.
Well base on what I just read from "ee" I would suggest the citizens of NC start making side and have the toil standard laws amended to include break times.
It is inhumane to emergency anyone work unlimited hours without breaks for meal and refreshment: it is highly detrimental to the human body to avoid regular meal and body rest times.
