Does my friend have grounds for a lawsuit over this?

A friend of mine have her expired driver's license run during a routine police check. An 18 year old warrant come up and she was arrested on the spot, be transported and spent a night at the local police station, be transported to a court, spent twelve hours in a holding cell up to that time being further transported to a county lock away overnight (while in leg chains and cuffs). Then transported to another courthouse within leg chains and cuffs where the overnight case was dismissed and the warrant cancelled. The arrest warrant is still within the system and now she have to carry a concentration of warrant cancellation for roughly speaking a year.
The warrant was sent to the wrong address 18 years ago, she be never notified almost it, and she has no view who sent it. She broke no law, committed no crime, spent two and a partially days in intern, had no trial, and never face her accuser. Can she sue?
Answers: Sure, go ahead and sue and cost us taxpayers more money.
Sounds nature of iffy to me that a warrant would be in the system unnoticed for that long.
If the travel case was taken to a advocate your friend should be prepared to explain about driving next to an expired license.
Why were the campus police investigating her??? I'm confused.they aren't constituent of the regular police department.who ran her liscense??? She cant be arrested for sitting beside an expired liscence.i think nearby is more to this story than you want to tell us. They must enjoy had a root to be looking at her in the first place, and if they be investigating her for another incident, then yes they have every right to hold her on an old warrent.

I got mugged the other light of day, but whats the worst the offender could catch?

i think he be about 15 years mature but could of been younger, here were a group of them and i recognised one of them as they a few years below me contained by school. appreciatively i did not have anything worth much on me and they get nothing but an neglected wallet, Im not sure if i should turn them in as im worried they might carry into too much trouble for something done under the influence of alcohol. whats the maximum and middle-of-the-road punishment these boys would get?
Answers: No style to know what the possible punishments are without knowing more detail and what state you are within.

Keep in mind though if you turn it over to the authorities you will enjoy no control over what happens to them. Some prosecutors will rob your wishes into consideration, others won't.

Up to you whether you report them or not. You have to live next to it either method and you are not the person who told them ot walk out and mug someone.
obviously they don't take any severe punishment. they will have to attend some youth rehabilitation programmes instead.
i am sure it be the youngest one of the group. it has other been the youngest one of the group who comes forward. i have similar experience where a group of boys tried to involve surrounded by a trouble. the youngest one who was completely uncontrollable be about 12 years frail. (i think they lately want to be the big guy of the group, because they know they are small)

How to copyright music?

How do you get your song copyrighted for free? And I don't want the answers give or take a few mailing it to yourself
Answers: The Copyright Office is a segment of the Library of Congress. You can download all the required forms and pamphlet for free. You can even call them and they will answer your question on the phone for free. Getting your stuff registered with the copyright bureau is pretty easy and isn't expensive. Just read up on it on the website, teem in your forms, and e-mail them with your check to register. You'll eventually hear final from the Copyright Office with proof that your stuff is copyright.

There is a small amount that you enjoy to pay to register your copyright. If you don't want to register it, you don't enjoy to. All you have to do it put Copyright 2007 Your Name on your stuff when it's printed. Copyright is automatic and you don't own to have it registered, but it's not a doomed to failure idea to register and it doesn't cost much.
Your music is automatically protected by copyright once it is "fixed" within a copy or on some recording surrounding substance (e.g., a CD). This is, of course, essentially no cost. Neither registration near the Copyright Office nor publication of your work is required.

That said, there are significant benefits to registering your music beside the Copyright Office. For example, you generally cannot sue others for copyright infringement until you register your work. However, registration is not free -- in attendance is a relatively small fee to register your work.

For more information on registering your music, you should read the circulars provided by the Copyright Office Website. A righteous one to start with is circular 50, which is provided at the interconnect below.

http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ50.ht...

As you point out, mailing your work to yourself provides no protection lower than the U.S. Copyright laws.

Can someone please explain how it is justifiable to exterminate someone to prove that killing someone is wrong?

Answers: It's not secure.
And it's not punishment, either. Punishments are, by definition, intended to teach the wrongdoer a lesson. We can't learn curriculum when we're dead.
Self Defense.
Defense of others.
That isn't the purpose of Capital Punishment. It is a PUNISHMENT, not a deterrent.
It's not to "prove" bloodshed someone is wrong for killing another. It's punishment.
Because the subsequent killer might contemplate twice. Capital punishment also prevents recidivism.
Like capital punishment?

Shows that we as a society enjoy low tolerance for murder and high have need of for vengeance.

And nearby is the deterrance factor. If we execute murderers, we deter them from committing any more murders.
I haven't been competent to figure that one out all the same. The people feeling like to kill the doctor, who is doing what his patients ask him to do. Or, are you referring to the departure penalty?
That is hopefully used as a deterrant, but so several states have outlawed it, & the inmates can of late tie up the legal system war it, it hasn't done much.
I understand a further than the other.
Simple. Law provides there are crimes so vile they require the forfit of your enthusiasm.

Wasn't that easy?

It is that simple. If some scumbag rapes and murders your child, I'll contentedly pull the plug on him and sleep that evening. When you put down a rabid dog in the past he kills another child, everyone benefits. It's not revenge; it's equality. We KNOW the rules.
It obviously can't be to lecture by example!

Also if it is a "punishment", it doesn't last long unless they botch the opening!

The primary reason seem to be to set an example to try to discourage others from committing capital crimes. It appears that this doesn't work too powerfully either.

Perhaps it is to slake the thirst for public revenge?
Because within order to show that one values the godliness of life, especially innocent life span, then one must spawn the punishment for those that murder others the most severe - the forfeit of their own life.

It's not more or less "teaching" anything, it's about giving an appropriate punishment. Many ethnic group see that as an appropriate punishment for murder.

There's nothing impolite about it, lately as there's nothing civilized give or take a few letting murderers live.
In the UAE, they have a Gold Souk surrounded by Dubai. There are no bars and in attendance is no glass within the windows. The gold ingots literally cascades out of the porthole, yet not a soul steals. Why? Because there is one lone cop standing atop the chopping block used to remove the appendage of any offender caught trying to steal. What a great deterent. And executions are done as a public event. People see someone's go before get lobbed sour with a sword surrounded by the middle of the town square, they tend to think twice going on for committing the offense that brought about such a strong punishment. Lesson studious.
Sometimes the lesson is not intended for the offender but for adjectives who witness the lesson. Have you never been made an example surrounded by school?

So, base on what you have stated (to me), consequently there be no peace in Iraq prior to the invasion, one and only fear. Point capably taken.
think that income punishment is important to enforce crime within some situations. Some people guess that capital punishment is cruel. I regard as that any insane person who brutally slaughters innocent human beings is even more cruel. I also believe that it should be the chance of each state to own the death cost. Some of the advantages of capital punishment are that it keep prisons less crowded, help reduce crime and homicide rates, and it assures that dodgy murderers will never walk the streets again via parole, escape, etc. I judge capital punishment is moderately necessary to argue crime.

One of the more obvious reason for capital punishment to be used is it help keep prisons smaller amount crowded. If a person can be executed instead of keeping a cell populated for life it will accumulate space. This is just adjectives sense.

It should also help drain crime and homicide rates. Criminals may be more afraid of killing somebody if they know they would die because of it. Statistics show that no drastic increase is made when the passing penalty is abolish. Well, I think that even a slight increase is more than motivation enough for the destruction penalty.

The final apology is that it actually assures us that risky criminals will never get free again by escape, parole, etc. Look at Charles Manson for example. Some ancestors think he will be on parole within ten years. This is probably true. Who knows what he'll do when he get out? Kill and kill again. I saw a TV program where on earth a murderer pleaded insanity several times and afterwards gets out and kill people time after time. This won't ensue with the disappearance penalty.

Capital punishment is critical to fight crime within certain situations. It help keeps prisons smaller number crowded, reduces crime and homicide rates and it is impossible for a unsafe criminal to get out and hike the streets again. In closing, I would like to articulate that the death cost is important if we want to retain our proud democracy. Criminals who execute innocent human beings should be forced to pay the best price, death.
Who said the purpose be to 'prove that killing someone is wrong'? By murdering someone, you enjoy intentionally violated that person's right to life and hold, thus voluntarily given up your own rights.

Judges and Complaints in GA!!!?

Do you judge a Judge can hear a case unbias when you profile a formal state complaint against him? My Attorney tells me that this let them know you are a trouble maker, and yes they can still hear the satchel. This is what my ex did not me, so it may benefit me anyway with the Judge i.e..
Answers: On what grounds would you be filing a complaint against the Judge? In most circumstances, yes, the Judge would still hear the valise. If you really believe the judge is biased, you should database a motion to recuse. You should not do it because your ex did. My suggestion is to follow the advice of the attorney. That anyone said, you may wish to aim a second opinion near an attorney in the nouns, because I know some attorneys won't advise a client to folder that motion because they have other cases within the court and don't want to make the style guru mad.

Just what is it that gives murdering child molesters the right to die beside dignity?

"You have the right to die beside dignity," said Joshi, a political science and religion major at New Jersey's Rutgers University. Sperling, a psychology and religion focal at New York University, said serving a life prison possession is the appropriate alternative to the death cost.
Answers: Bleeding heart liberals. There is no such thing as "dying near dignity" after what they have done.
Nothing surrounded by my book. The one crime they should bring back public stoning for.

Tell Joshi so did his victims.where on earth were their rights? Who stands for them?
Well, the directive does. Cruel and unusual punishment is against the law, even if it's done to a discouraging guy.

Notice the guy who made that statement is a psychology and religion major, not an attorney. He's not even out of college.

Also, those associates who have be wrongfully convicted might side with him.
This is the individual crime where I regard as everyday waterboarding is justified.

Friends ex-boyfriend has be threatening to contact a lawyer?

He disappeared some stuff in her apartment when he moved out Nov 2005. It be small stuff, an amp, some cd's, some clothing... etc. He never contacted her to arrange picking this stuff up until Dec 2007.

She responded saying that she didn't want to speak to him, as the grounds on which they broke up be shaky and revolved around a lot of issues.

He is in a minute threatening to contact a lawyer because she will not agree to him into her house to pick up the belongings. It has be a LONG time since he moved out and left the stuff in that. She had to move everything into the underground room - she had sent some of his larger stuff to him mid-2006.

Can he pursue decriminalized action? He's making lots of threats and his a hot-shot big cross in the city we live.
Answers: The one and only legal handling he can take is give somebody a lift her to small claims court and sue her for the return of his junk. If that stuff be that important to him he would enjoy picked it up by now. Sounds resembling he's just trying to start making trouble. A attorney is just going to titter at him. Your friend should just engineer arrangements to give him spinal column his crap.
thats legal they necessitate to come to court becausehe dont post to do that he should of got adjectives of his stuff when he left

Why should the legal age be lowered to 18 contained by the united states?

everyone say like if you can face-off for your country you can drink, what else is there..
Answers: Watching my friends, and after that our kids and their friends, at 18, then at 21, and beyond, there's no defensible defence the legal drinking age should be reduced.

There's an gargantuan number of young adults (mostly men, but not exclusively) who are extremely irresponsible around alcohol. They drink and drive--repeatedly, despite tickets. They make asses of themselves at party, including family, work, or institution functions--they ruin many a honeymoon and a fair number of funerals. They hold unprotected sex with any of a mind stranger. They're nuisances at concerts and sporting events which serve beer.

By their mid-twenties, most have matured satisfactory to leave his behavior astern.

There's no reason to want three extra years of such irresponsibility next to legal alcohol, especially since some of the behaviors put others at risk.
Let's receive the history straight. Many states lowered their drinking age to 18. This happened after the 18 year olds get the in 1970.
Then, when drinking become more of a problem in the big schools the age within some states, was raise to 19. Some stayed at 18, some never changed for 21.
Then, in 1984, in that was a movement, lead by the both major party, to get the age raise back to 21.
Regan, after his see in 84, and I mention him, as he be such a great believer in State's rights, signed legislation that said to the States that if they did not put on a pedestal their drinking age to 21, a substantial amount of Highway Funds from the Federal Government would be withheld. A few states held out for a couple of years, but finally they gave within and 21 was the regulation of the land.
Personally, I never get to legally drink until 21, but I still construe the states should get to arranged for themselves, not the Federal Government. It is a true state issue, and I say that as a liberal.
It be tried once before when I be 18 and they found it to be too young. There be a major increase of teen death due to drunk driving. 18 year olds aren't responsible enough to drink besides, drinking is a disgusting point. It makes individuals reek of alcohol and start fights for no apology. If I had it my means of access, we'd get rid of drinking alcohol adjectives together and thus get rid of the mete out of well over 17,000 death due to it.

Man sues kid who doesn't even know what "sue" means?

So I be reading the news basically now and come across this story. I thought it was a touch ridiculous, but I'd like to know what others give attention to. Here's the link: http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?s...
Answers: Ridiculous IS the word. Not to mention that the article further states that you can't sue a minor within Colorado so that is the epitome of a frivolous decree suit (ah, but he is suing both the boy AND his dad).

Everyone in this country is "sue jubilant," I think. Most of them freshly out to get something for nil. (Not necessarily this case which did involve an injury.)
The ancient guy should be ashamed of his self. He's nothing, But a uncharitable, rotten, ignorant, prick bastard. Now I'm newly expressing my opinion. Which I've hear is one of the few things in this country you cant capture sued for. Yes its ridiculous!
If this old guy is such a greedy little infirm *****. He shouldn't be involved in an pursuit with other population where your bound to find hurt sooner or later.
i don't know ,,,,really
