I'm a violating some copyright if i use high up adverstising slogans in a play i'm writing?
the play is completely free to judgment. there is no levy for admission.Answers: First, short phrases (e.g., a typical selling slogan) are generally disallowed to copyright protection. Thus, if the slogans are protected at all, they will most credible be protected under trademark canon. There may be other rights you potentially infringe as well, but it's impossible to right to be heard under fixed facts.
Second, whether your play is free or whether you give credit is completely irrelevant contained by determining copyright and trademark infringement. For example, no matter how various times you cite a copyrighted song you use in your play, you are still infringing the copyright of that song if you don't get a license.
Your use of the advertising slogans infringes trademark rights if your use creates a prospect of confusion. Of course, whether your use creates a likelhood of confusion is impossible to say surrounded by the abstract.
If you want to be completely clear of any possibility of infringement, you can always ask for authorization from the trademark owners. Alternatively, you may want to consult an attorney with expertise surrounded by entertainment law.
Even if you did charge for the play, here is a law beckon "Fair Use" which should cover you. But read it over for clarification.
Heres an excerpt:
"The 1961 Report of the Register of Copyrights on the General Revision of the U.S. Copyright Law cites examples of activities that courts own regarded as reasonable use: “quotation of excerpts in a review or criticism for purposes of illustration or comment; quotation of short passage in a scholarly or systematic work, for illustration or clarification of the author's observations; use in a distortion of some of the content of the work parodied; summary of an address or article, beside brief quotations, in a report report; reproduction by a library of a portion of a work to replace part of a worn out copy; reproduction by a teacher or student of a small portion of a work to illustrate a lesson; reproduction of a work in legislative or judicial proceedings or reports; incidental and fortuitous reproduction, surrounded by a newsreel or broadcast, of a work located in the scene of an event person reported.”
Short answer: you're not.
You can make a defence that, if anything, you're making their marketing scheme more significant, and that they owe YOU money.
If they cannot show that you have enjoy any fiscal benefit as a result of having used their slogans, they can just about demand that those profits be reverted to them.
Also, there's rather thing call fair use; if they're legendary, and a part of our culture, it's covered underneath your right to free expression. That's why political comedians can say satirical things in the order of politicians and not worry in the order of going to jail.
not a soul gets sued if you present credit and/or money where credit and/or money is due... since within is no money... you just make a contribution credit in your program... on the far outside... if you be "defaming" a company you might be liable for defamation... but I doubt you are...

Answers: Asker,
What a troubling set of facts. Generally wills that are made beneath undue influence or when the testator lacks testamentary capacity are not valid and can be set aside by a probate court. However, litigation can be an immensely complex endeavour involving great time and expense.
The first thing you must do is to contact a advocate specializing in wills and estates and hope his or her preliminary advice. Depending on the appeal of your gf's mother's estate, the claim may or may not be worthwhile pursuing, depending on the legal fees involved. If you cannot afford a private attorney, there are several organization that help such individuals, such as Downtown permitted services: http://www.dls.utoronto.ca/service.htm

When were teacher allowed to teach while visibly pregnant contained by the US?
What was the rules precipitate in our society when you be not even allow to say the owrd pregnant of show that you be pregnant on Television, except for Lucille Ball.Answers: Peggy Whitley was the first coach allowed to teach while visibly pregnant. 1968.
Teachers enjoy always be allowed to teach when pregnant. The concept of a pregnant woman taking time off work because she's pregnant is a product of our current comfortable society where we can afford to 'carry' inhabitants while they're non-productive.
In 'pioneer' days women worked till they went into labor, after went wager on to work as soon as they could walk - the choice be work or starve for most people.
Early tube had some massively funny rules about what you could show, but they have nothing to do next to society at large.
In England, for example, you couldn't show a toilet bowl on TV within an ad for toilet bowl cleaners until a few years ago - no opinion who thought THAT one up :-)
Richard
In 1974 my high conservatory science teacher be pregnant and she even showed a film on emergency child birth. Sense next I have no perception.

Or other than chnging my number?Answers: Unless they are using it to brand fraudulant purchases or other illegal reason, there probably isn't much you can do but attain a new number.
If you want to brand life complex on the person, if someone call you about them, you can enlighten them what a snake they are and that you wouldn't do business with the soul if they were the end person on land.
you could block the number the call comes from, or win caller psyche and not answer the phone, or you can screen your call with an answering piece of equipment.
Is it legal for States to allow drug addict who happen to be Doctors to practice tablets?
Read a news article yesterday that adjectives 50 states currently protect the identity of doctors who are drug addicts and alcoholics; California only past a ruling to stop protecting their names. I would approaching to encourage everyone to write their Congressman, it could be your child, or another love one that one of these quacks is providing medical services.Answers: It's not newly doctors---they need to incorporate dentists and pharmacists as well. These folks usually get a slap on the hand---go to rehab (joke) and next get PTI (Pre-Trial Intervention). They are after put on probation for a couple of years---and if they are GOOD--their record is expunged.
This site http://oig.hhs.gov/fraud/exclusions.html
will show you those profesionalls who be excluded from any federal program like Medicaid/Medicare and will bestow you some more details.
In my state (NJ) the Consumer Affairs lists
"action" if any charges be ever levied against a doc, dentist, social worker, psychologist, doc--anyone who is licensed. But, they never give an account you what that action be
Unfortunately it happens near is no national database that says they can't.
What is your opinion going on for cameras above stop lights which can give you a ticket for vandalism...?
big brother or necessary because of adjectives the stupid people out at hand and shortages of po po's?Answers: You can really look at this a few ways: preventative, fundraising, or useless...
In a way, you can speak it helps prevent general public from driving through lights as you said, however it is not always graceful to tell if a flimsy has a camera if you're not fascinated (as people usually do when driving through lights), if you do not hold a radar, or if you have no previous awareness of the camera. It is for these reasons I really don't believe the cameras prevalent purpose is preventative.
I think for the most quantity, the cameras are used as a revenue stream for the police/state, etc as a another means to earn money lacking police officers. Red Light Cameras photograph your license plate and as a consequence can't prove who was driving the vehicle...and so it is pretty useless for impacting one's driving record. A police officer issuing a ticket for equal offense would charge you with a moving ruin that brings at the very tiniest, 2 points on your license plust a nice fine.
In conclusion, I would have to read aloud, the light cameras suck...as everyone go through a red light once surrounded by a blue moon, whether it on purpose or by fluke...the good report is, that no points are involved.
A few years ago I drove through a blinking light contained by DC at 4AM and got a red desk light ticket a month later...I couldn't clash it, even though I truly believe I did nothing wrong. I get the impression like most population who drive through red lights do so at their own cost and the cost of others but are doing it ignorantly without awareness of the cameras. If there be a camera on every light or possibly a sign advertising the camera, I don`t know this would be a different story.
No problem for me. I was sitting at a red pale once when a car run the light and slammed into the side of another vehicle going through the intersection. The guy running the red light be killed, the other driver be badly injured.
If it make people regard as and slow down, I'm for it.
I think it's fabulous and really category of a sad commentary on our current society that we call for to have cameras every where on earth to make society behave like clad, civilized, law abiding folks.
Running red lights is dangerous- that's not something to filch lightly it deserves a ticket.
I stop for Red Lights so I don't thoroughness.
More money for city government from directive breakers - sounds good to me.
OK so i'm going to school for criminal even-handedness and a lot of those are calling it weird?
do u think it's too weird for a girl to be a cop, i'm mingy i'm not scary but, economically idk what do u think???Answers: great!
i'm going to arts school to be a prosecuter or I'm getting into criminal law. Either that or biogenetic engineering :p
we want more women cops :)
Not at all. Be who You wanna be. It's Your adjectives, N-O-T Their's Hon.
Good luck!! Sure You'll do fine! b^_^b
I am female and I enjoy a BA in Criminal Justice. Only not conversant people assume that adjectives you can be with that amount is a cop.. I used mine to work in the foster concern system and as a court-appointed advocate for children.
I'm not fearsome either but when I have to do an internship on a police beat, the suspects responded to me only as well as they did to the cop near a gun, and all I have was a nightstick.
There are several other careers you can pursue beside your degree, too. Unless unsurprisingly you really feel a calling to police work; I feel I would have be a great detective but since I had a small child I chose a chore with more regular hours.
warning- the divorce rate for cops is more than the nonspecific population, esp for females
There is plenty of need for feminine cops, especially when working with womanly or child victime, and maybe next to female criminals. Also, spot on investigations may need a womanly.
Even aside from those special, it's not wierd for a woman to be a cop. You go, Girl!
OK, when "Police Woman" be a TV show in the precipitate 1970's it was unnatural, but get over it, within are millions of women who are police officers immediately.
You gotta stop referring to yourself as "girl" if you are mature plenty to be a cop you are a woman.
Do you live in a really small town? Some small towns are still living contained by the 1960's, but the rest of the world is in a time where on earth a woman can do any job for which she can be hired.
Personal information?
Why does the doctor's office ask for my SS# and Driver's License number? Do I own to give it to them?Answers: For positive authorization. No you don't; and they don't have to adopt you as a patient; you can look for another doctor.
It is used to find you if you backfire to pay your bill.
As much as I dislike unlawful aliens in the US, it would also prove identity and citizenship if we opt to prevent illegals from getting health concern.
For identification purposes,
a) within case you don't clear your bill, and
b) in covering you're going to multiple doctors under different name to get drugs.
If you don't donate them to him he probably won't accept you as a merciful, and even if he does he won't be allowed to prescribe you any drugs.
Richard
