How will a "less than honorable" task force discharge affect a contract job requiring surety clearance?
I'm interviewing for a contractor-related job which will be working on a task force base. I be told the job required a indemnity clearance. 12 years ago when I was briefly within the navy I have a "less than honorable" discharge (tested positive on drug try-out - only time within my life until that time or since I ever tried anything). Question is - what kind of deposit clearance are they looking for with civilian workers do you deliberate? I have no criminal copy and have be quite the upstanding citizen since after. Being so long ago and me not being contained by the military now, would they completely demand nil less than an honorable discharge or "don't bother applying - ever"? Or what if the event be, say, 60 years ago? Is it that no amount of time passed lower than the bridge will erase this discharge and allow you to get a civilian assignment on their base, or would they solitary deny a "dishonorable" or "misconduct" discharge status? Please only up to date answers, not just speculation.Answers: The true is that every command job might require a different clearance smooth based on who's gonna hire you, what you are gonna do and where on earth. No matter what we let somebody know you there is no mode to know for sure what the people within charge will decide to do, because technically they can deny your application or they can be as flexible as they want since you are not asking for a military, deposit, or law enforcement charge.
Be upfront and don't hide anything. The investigation it's not simply based on one-time mistake but on adjectives you have be doing for the last 12 years. Don't be afraid of trying.

if you involve a high clearance, probability are they wont give it to you
but if its something simple, i dont see why not
the singular thing youd really necessitate to worry in the order of is if the discharge were for something of a more serious quality
It depends on the clearance. But basically drug
foul language is no good starting point for any sort of
security clearing.

Secondly, the Statute of Limitations for all crimes except murder have expired by now anyway.

Technically, a black-powder rifle (muzzle load) is not considered a firearm and is not regulated. So it does not apply contained by your case. However, the definition does rise and fall by state, as was mentioned in advance the barrel must be over 1 foot. Some states consideration muzzle loader to flint-lock only, and consider anything using a globe and cap as a firearm. So, any state works, but freshly stay within the definition of the states concept of a muzzle loaded rifle.
Really, your best bet will be a more remote area where on earth hunting is more prominent, such as northern Wisconsin, Michigan, or anywhere the militias are more active, this will expect that the state is likely more adjectives as to firearm types.
Now, this does not mean that if you ever procure stopped by a police officer you are scott free. You can still be arrested, the charges just wouldn't stick.
The ONLY entry I would really consider in this scenario, is what homeland indemnity has deem a muzzle loader as... Since in command to use one you will be in possession of an explosive substance. so the type of powder you can use might even be regulated. I believe smokeless powder would not be allowed.
