My bureau is in the middle of a strip of office, and our neighbors love to smoke right outside of their door (which is maybe 5-10 foot away from ours). Problem is, my desk is located in the entrance of our organization, and anytime they're outside smoking and someone opens our door, I find a nice big puff of smoke that lingers around my desk. As a non-smoker near slight asthma, the smoke bothers me, and we've asked them if they could possibly smoke at their other entrance farther from our door. The reply my boss got when discussion to them was that they could smoke anywhere they considered necessary and would continue to smoke right where on earth they were, and "don't run all California on me, man."
