Why must home owners be required to shovel city sidewalks?

I reside in the midwest and we are currently getting hit near a heavy bout of snow. Like may cities mine requires residents to shovel/salt the sidewalk next to our property within 24 hrs of the snowfall finish or be billed for the clean-up. Why is it my responsibility as a tax paying home owner to clear the city sidewalk? Land ownership regulated that MY property begin 7 ft from the road. I do not own the sidewalk! Just like the road is cleared by plows the city should also steal responsibility for the sidewalks! .. and please no bs answers about taking civil responsibility to do my part of a set for the community. That's why I pay taxes!

You live in a community and surrounded by any community there are things that populace do for each other.

I agree near you. I don't always shovel the sidewalk because I don't own time to. I keep it verbs as much as I can, but if I was ever fined by my city for such things, I would be at the terrifically next city tryst complaining about everything I see the city force doing when they're wasting tax payer dollars by stopping by the grocery store contained by a city vehicle, standing around doing nothing at parks, hiring illegals, etc.

I don't think the city should hold laws that dictate what homeowners are forced to do to help yourself to care of city property. Cleaning the sidewalk is a courtesy and should never be punishable next to a fine for not keeping it clean.

Did you know that if someone falls on rime or snow on the city sidewalk by your house that you are the one who will be sued for not cleaning the sidewalk?

Did you also know that you have to settle up for repairs or replacement of these city sidewalks if the local kids damage it or it get cracked from age?

Too much government - at the local, state and federal level! We need smaller amount government regulation. Most individuals will shovel or sweep the sidewalks as a courtesy to people contained by their neighborhood. We don't need more law to tell us what we "have" to do if not...

Yes, you do pay taxes and yes, that subdivision is owned by the government. However, if the affairs of state was responsible for cleaning the sidewalks, it would require more rates money to cover the cost of extra employees, time, equipment, etc. This cost would hold away from schools, direction, and even maintaining the roads. By shoveling the sidewalk within front of your house, it saves you excise money that the government would otherwise collect to do the livelihood - and knowing the government, they would find some track to jack the cost up. I am a homeowner who also reside in the Midwest. Shoveling our walk is a annual occurance here as well. It is a sanctuary factor. If someone walks on the sidewalk & falls, you will be responsible if the sidewalk wasn't sufficiently cleared bad. If your property is laid out like most areas of the Midwest, that 7ft that you claim is the city's is technically yours. It is for right of process access. Contact the city attorney in your community to procure confirmation.

Until you get confirmation, grin & accept it. Clear your walk, any doing it yourself or hiring someone else to do it. Having the city clear sidewalks will require more workers & they are paid $15/hr or better, thus increasing our taxes even more. If you want to bypass the ordinance, subsequent summer have your sidewalk ripped out at your expense & put subsequent to the road. Due to the layout of my neighborhood, my sidewalk lays next to the street, so after a 2-3in snowfall, we won't see our tramp until it warms up satisfactory to melt snow & we enjoy never been ticketed for not clearing our walk. Answers: I agree with the "It's a short time ago another way to put those on prescription drugs" statement. I mean, yeah, conceivably these teenagers are depressed, but a test can't determine that for sure. A individual can't just wish if another person is depressed, you know? And even if these inhabitants ARE depressed, I don't think it's right. I niggardly, if a person doesn't want your assistance, don't force it. You know how many fruitless parents that are just so incredibly gruesome at communicating with their kids are newly going to think "Oh resourcefully, my kid must be depressed, let's put them on drugs" It's a stupid idea contained by my opinion. If a creature really needs relieve, they can find it elsewhere. Drugs are probably only going to hurt them contained by the longrun.

It is a powerful tool to push kids onto antidepressants. My husband and I both have have terribly gloomy reactions to antidepressants and enjoy therefore refuse to put our children on them. We have have CPS after us over this issue.

To Janis616 above: I have have clinicians and psychologists "suggest" and even try to force me to give my kids these meds. They did a pile-up of "evidence" on me and sent it to CPS, who threatened me near "Medical Neglect" charges.

so many kids are on drugs and they aren't helping them. basically making them suffer even more. i think populace need to gossip to more kids instead of putting them on drugs.

How do I legally catch rid of a roommate?

My boyfriend and I rent a house in which I am the signature on the lease and my father is a cosigner. For the 6 months we have be here we have be subleasing the two extra rooms. Our roommate Bob has be renting a room since we first moved in. Us three own been great friends. Last month my mother moved within. Bob and her have since, developed repulsive relationship.

Prior to the month of December Bob notified us that he would not hold his rent until the 5th and we agreed as he has other paid us contained by full. December 5th Bob gave his 30 daytime notice out loud to my boyfriend and asked if he could use his deposit to pay for the month of December and earnings us the remaining $50 of the rent. The one and only thing you can do is notify him that his rent is due. In writing. Once he is astern on his rent he can stay there for as long as he can achieve away with it. What I indicate is he may not ever pay you rent again and be in that thru the next month as all right. I think it would purely be better if you make energy living with you horrible for him and it would be his edict to move. But be careful he may want to give up when you are least expecting it. close to in the middle of the dark, and most of your thing will give up with him. Minimum or maximum securtiy prison???

how do you know whether a prsion is maximum or minimum security prison?
for example this prison within california ... Salinas valley state prison????

the maximum security prison is reserved for the hardest offender for crimes such as serial rapists, serial murderers, terrorists, in other words the worst offender. there is single minimal contact with anyone else, usually on lock down 23 hours a light of day in their cell.

Question about SSI and children?

Hmmm, I'm assuming you are applying because of a disability but don't own enough work credits to qualify for SSD? I know that if you be eligible for SSD, your child would receive a check that amounted to 50% of your check. I'm not sure about SSI, I don't muse so.

If that's not correct and you're talking survivor benefits, after yes, your child would receive a check.

I support legalizing assisted suicide for the terminally below par, but with restrained restrictions. These restrictions should include:

1. An independent evaluation and an administrative hearing concerning the person's mental capacity to request assisted suicide. If I am reading your statement correctly, the DA is offering a plea bargain here. In the state of Ohio, where on earth I live, statutory rape cannot be dropped and is automatically picked up as a state charge regardless. If you can get this tender in writing, it might be worth your time to consider. Even though the sex be consensual, minors are not considering having the facility to make that type of decision for themselves, which is why the charge is later rape. If you decide to "lug this to the box" it is guaranteed to convict. I hope this helps you.
