We are 50 independent states with a federal federal government to manipulate common things. Each state have it's representation in the federal command. Each state ratified the constitution and it cannot be changed except by an amendment approved by 2/3's of the state government. Our form of government leaves much responsibility at the state rank.
Our major problem beside our present form of government is the extensive growth of the federal government as shown by the massive entitlement programs it administer. That needs to move.
