Is Shredding someone elses mail unjust?

My Boss had a female work for her a long while ago (probably over 6 months+) well this girl forwarded her messages to my work and my Boss was ok beside that. She apparently told my boss to shred her mail that comes contained by. Well the responsibility was put on me to do this (as the shredder is closest to me) So the receptionist brings her correspondence to my inbox and shreds it. Before I shred it I make sure it say her name (or husbands name) surrounded by the window of the piece of correspondence...Most of the items I notice are from collections, bill collectors and cast-offs mail (as it looks like)...is this even permissible for me to be shredding this persons post that I don't know, but apparently she told my boss it was ok to shred it?

Answers: Destroying mail is a felony. Write "Return to sender - Adressee unknown" on the letters and stick it back contained by the mail box.

I would distribute the mail support to where it come from, thats the only permissible thing (and not dangerous thing) you can do for now.
Just write return to sender--unknown addressee and put it stern in the communication and they will eventually stop sending them.

I would of late do return to sender...after a couple return to senders, the postmaster will see that they do not receive mail near and will just do it themselves.

In the States you are safe shredding 3'rd class communication. Junk and ads. First class you may not unfurl without sanction. Get it in writting that you own been ordered to shredd this individuals mail.
