Yes, there's no sense within carrying a weapon if you're not prepared to use it. I would not know the robber's state of mind, if he was large on drugs, etc, or what his intentions were and so I would have to assume he have the ability and/or intent to do me the most spoil possible. I hear ya, it's a pretty touchy subject. In general, I try to hold politic's out of a doctors' ethics as much as possible. I find that I trust Doctors to net ethical decisions on a case-by-case cause, more than I trust politicians to do the same. But that said, it's get to be some pretty remarkable circumstances to make that okay surrounded by my mind- many empire live years after doctors have told them they'd die.
