Bailiff turns up for payment didn't know anything nearly?

I was given a fine for not taking driver details to police station within time, in reality i did the police just get there history wrong, but i had to travel to court to sort that matter out and be told to pay lb70 towards costs. i though the go together was rewarded but apparently! it was lb20 short. unconscious of this the court and bailiffs sent me notices but they didn't appear at my house.

Now the bailiffs own turns up saying notice for payment own been sent but not rewarded and they are asking for lb170, should they not have sent court notices by record delivery or hold some sort of proof you received notices? what are my writes.?
Answers: Courts DO NOT enjoy to prove that you received letters, simply prove that they sent them ( which is easy as they other keep copies)

Therefore the problem is yours I'm afraid, are you sure you never received anything from them???
Bailiffs are the LAST resort, after sending various letters next to no response

EDIT
Just so you know, if these are county court bailiffs you CAN'T turn them away, they are legally allowed to enter your house, and contrary to what the other answerer said, you can phone the police but the probability are they will turn up with the bailiffs anyway to assist them entering your house

On the other appendage if they are debt bailiffs they CAN'T enter your house legally unless you consent to them in
Get surrounded by touch with the Local MP Candidates, Get contained by touch with Citizens Advice... And find every message, receipt and write down days that they come to your house for money.

Dont wait around any. Get it done as soon as you can!
sounds liek you are bieng screwed like so several other people.

ask for a detailed enumerate of dates and copies of adjectives letter sent as proof that the debt exists.

if you enjoy kept all you memo that you have received afterwards get them out and compare what you hold to what they have sent.

if the address on their post is slightly different to your actual address, then say aloud that as they havent had the correct address, the epistle obviously havent be delivered and and so you have not be notified.

miserably the courts dont need to know if you received their post, which is there jump down back. i parsimonious its ludicrous to suggest that you would avoid paying lb20 and be hit with further charges, if you have the choice would you rather reimburse lb20 or lb170 lol. it dont make sense and you should stress this to the courts.

might be of use contacting the Citizens Advice Bureau and obtain the procedures that courts enjoy to follow when chasing a debt to make sure if they complied. if they didnt later you can argue on this point and just proffer to pay the lb20 outstanding.

anything you do, if the bailiff comes calling again. dont let them contained by, they have no right to come surrounded by unless they have a warrant and police beside them.

get their details and a contact number and phone the courts to confirm who they are. label them wait as long as possible.

anyone can pretend to be a bailiff and printout a note pretending to be from the courts.

tell them to turn away or you will call the police as you dont believe who they are. how are you supposed to know what prescribed ID looks like?
As it is for a fine afterwards it has come from the magistrates court. Unfortunately.these baliffs can rightfully break into your house to sieze goods within order to cover the debt.

No concern what you thin k you did or didnt wages, you have no right of appeal You want to pay it ASAP

Donations at work?

A question for a friend. Is it ethical for a private service supervision that you are employed by to "expect" you(actually it would look really bad if you didn't) to engineer a donation to them? Especially a sizeable amount lets say aloud $350-$1000?? My friend is on a tight budget and I am trying to plea her case. I consider donating is great.but she works well over 40/wk and most weekends..I estimate that is donation ample. She says the work is adjectives part of her livelihood. What do you all muse?
Answers: Is the donation made for some kind of charity that the company supports, if the company is for-profit? Or is it for the company itself? Is the private service business a non-profit or for-profit?

Many non-profit organizations "expect" you to get a contribution. $350 to $1000 seems for a time too high. Then again, it depends on her position. If it is a for-profit cleaning and they are asking for the donation for themselves, it sounds a little too fishy and immoral. Unless they are collecting it for charitable purposes. No company can force you to contribute but they can take appointments against you in other ways. It is dismal but true.

Edit: Yes, many not-for-profit organization do expect you to make a donation. I worked for one and I work next to some that do it. Though they do not ask for a specific amount they suggest what you should give. Does not tight that you have to furnish that amount. It is not unethical nor dishonest. Is she being asked to work overtime and weekends? And if she is, is she individual paid for it?
Ethically it would completely wrong to ask someone to donate financially.

I would NOT perceive obligated in anyway.
no...espically if its political..

Motel Trouble!!?

I just get a call from a friend near a problem; I had no view how to help her. She have been staying at Motel 6 for yesteryear 3 months. She went within to hide from her husband whom pulsation her. She just call me this is what happened Friday: She go to the office to clear her weekly rent that comes to 359.98. The front desk clerk gave her 2 cents variation back. Apparently he pocketed her rent money. He’s a spanking new guy brother to another desk clerk who’s on parole for armed robbery. The manager call her and asked her if she was going to take-home pay or leave she said she HAS compensated. She went right to the bureau to confront the clerk with the coordinator. The clerk said she did pay. She departed, he told the manager that after she salaried he put the money on the counter she picked it up & walked out beside it. Why is he saying this Tue? She told the mngr. She be going to call the police, the mngr told her that he wouldnt do that if he be her. Now they want her to pay again or give, what should she do?
Answers: She needs to database a police report.. simple as that. Then the burden will shift to the hotel proving she did not pay. She should call upon Motel 6 corporate and inform them of her complaint and fax the report to them. Everybody will see right through this. She put the money down on the counter.. then picked it up and disappeared? If she was going to skip out she merely would enjoy left beside it. So the clerks story does not fly to any normal human.

The regulator actually said to not give the name the police and "he would not do that if he was her"? That is an implied threat. I'm betting you that for the director to say such scheme he knows he have an issue and has masses others.

Police, police, and police. Even if she leaves it will protect her later. Odds are she will grasp a free week as the management will not want further scrutiny. But if this is going on she should not be at hand.

As others said there is other some organization around that would facilitate her. Sure she may be proud an not want to be "one of those people". Well you know they can do much. $1440 a month in rent alone? They can provide officially recognized advice for this and the husband. She wishes to reach out because human being alone and afraid, even of the hotel management is making things worse.
She wants proof she paid. Can she attain a copy of the survalance tape? Any cleared checks? Anything?

With no proof, she have nothing to proove she compensated and it looks like she'll be out.

Perhaps she can stir to a woman's shelter or contact Volenteers of America. Some of those organizations enjoy hotel vouchers to help homeless race get a place to stay.
1. She should run to a woman's shelter - they won't charge her money to stay there, and they can also comfort her with her other issues about the abuse by her husbande

2. She should ask the Motel 6 overseer if there is a surety camera on the front desk (most hotels have this), and it would show that she salaried and that the clerk took the money, and she did not pocket it.

3. She should NEVER pay within cash withour getting a receiving.

Tell her "Good Luck" for me...
she should pay or move off. she never paid the 1st time. otherwise she would own a receipt; freshly like every other week. base on your story i therefore verbs she got overthrow because she is stupid

Law arrives when a hurt occurs against it, but the press, is If Law is strong, then not a soul can hurt it..

"Law arrives when a hurt occurs against it, but the sound out, is If Law is strong, then not a soul can hurt it, but today we seems Law is week, so peoples hurt it." Analyse.
Answers: The ruling is not a person, so nobody can hurt it. Its in recent times a piece of code written by law maker.

But enforcement of law may be stunted which means sometimes statute can be broken and the law breakers will not be punished. If you enjoy good tenet enforcement then populace will be afraid to break the law for dread of punishment.

there is no strong statute or weak tenet, or somebody hurting the law, since the tenet is not a living being. Once the legislature make the law it is the duty of the executive to enforce it, if the enforcement gears such as police dont do their jobs after law will not be extremely effective.
how do you know tenet is *weak or not?
give an example of its inadequacy or strenght.
Our laws arrives after we appointment them when some one hurts it. Sometimes it doesn't come even after a call. So the break is already made and whatever measures we bear can not reverse the damage.

Laws have need of to be so strong enough that citizens don't dare to play with them. For example the Islamic law followed in Arab countries.

Advice Please?

If the partner of a woman gives her a full-size sum of money when he moves into the womans house and then dies a couple of years following does the family hold the right to ask for the money back near interest. The money was a bequest and not a loan and there are no signed documents clich¨¦ otherwise
Answers: I agree with Wilfred B above - he's hit the fastener on the head.

In optional extra, if the money WAS a gift next the money legally belongs to the offering recipient.

As Wilfred b said, the relatives enjoy no cause of movement or locus standi (i.e. are not the proper party to an action) so can't bring a claim.
Actually, the correct answer is YES, the relations has the right to ask.

Whether a court would allow a suit base on the lack of evidence of a loan is another situation.
whatever even if it be a loan the agreement was between them two and and so unenforceable by relatives.
and even if it was due pay for under any agreement it would enjoy been the duty of the execuetor of the will to ask for repayment, after probate as be granted the deceased affairs are finished and contained by law you dont even owe a penny to not a soul. the family cannot even sue you contained by court they have to sue the execuetor. you cannot sue within court for an agreement you are not party to surrounded by the first place
of course not! if someone give you a gift, would you want to own to give it subsidise?
we had that problem near a live in woman extored adjectives my grandmas money and even her house, no documents too except the signing over of the house.
but we did take it to a intermediary and got alot posterior, but that is because we have the SPCA fighting next to us.
they lost out too but did score sonme money contained by the long run.
good luck!
