Are the United States violating the civil rights of Puerto Ricans?

Puerto Ricans shares indistinguishable military obligations as any US citizen, but they can not vote for the President of the United States. Right very soon there are thousands of them (in adjectives military branhes) giving their lives to defend USA contained by the war against terrorism. Can this be considered a contravention of civil rigths?

Answers: Some of the answers are pretty crazy so lets clear some things up:

1. Residents of Puerto Rico are full and complete US Citizens. With adjectives the rights and privlegdes and obligations of any other US Citizen.

2. The United States of America is an association of STATES. The appendage states are the foundation of the government next to the federal level designed to control collective requirements (ie: defense) and mediate interstate issues. But the prinicpal of the nation remains that the STATES are the components of the government.

3. Individual Citizens do not vote for President of the United States. The Constitution is really clear on this: Each state is granted a number of electorial votes equal to the sum of the number of Representatives and Senators elected from that state. The individual states may chose the bearing for allocating those votes. The current method is to hold a popular election where on earth the people type ballots that elect a slate of Electors who are committed to a unique candidate. This is a relatively foreign development and any state may conversion its method of selecting Electors when and how it chooses.

4. Note again that CITIZENS do not hold any Constitutional right to select the President. Only the States have that right. Puerto Rico is not a state, accordingly does not have any Constitutional right to any Electors for the President, nor for that thing do they have a right to any Congressmen. Since at hand is no right granted then it cannot be a infringement of their civil rights not to vote.

5. Puerto Rico could, by internal vote, petition the other States to gain admission to the Union as a State. Then the other applicant states would each own a chance to adopt or reject that application. That is the exact same process every state past the inspired 13 had to follow. Shoudl Puerto Rico gain Statehood, they would also gain full Congressional Representation and an appropriate number of Electors for President -- which, as a soverign state, they could establish on their own method for assigning those Electors. Which may or may not involve a popular vote.

6. Finally, before anyone think this is aimed at Puerto Ricians, remember there is also the US Virgin Islands and American Samoa and the residents of the Federal District of Columbia who do not hold any Constitutional right to participate within the selection of the President. And when it be California Territory; or Dakota Territory; or Ohio Territory; or any other federal territory they followed those same rules: Only STATES are Contitutionally empower to select the President.
It is not a violation of Civil Rights because PR is not a familiar state, therefore the rights guaranteed surrounded by the constitution do not apply to it's citizens.

Unless you become a legal US citizen by next you do not get to vote surrounded by '08. You may not like it, but you more than possible knew almost this when you entered the millitary.
Puerto Ricans do not wallow in equal treatment as United States citizens. Yet we fight and die for this country side by side near everybody else.

It is a missconception that Puerto Rican can't vote for the President because they don't payment taxes. They pay Social Security taxes , Medicaid etc. If you areca resident of Puerto Rico working for the federal political affairs or doing bussines with the federal rule you have to money federal taxes.
This is a case not simply of civil rigths but also of territorial discrimination. It is disheartened that the country who portraits itself as a beacon of democracy for the rest of the world is keeping more than 4 miilions of its citizens in need the rigth to vote in the Presidential Elections. Shame on you USA!

Why do employers involve to hire foreign workers when there are U.S.citizens out of work?????

Answers: I don't give attention to it's because of low wages...mainly, it is because employer have a difficult time finding employable ancestors, or people who are on welfare and prefer to live that route..basically, they don't want to work...frontage it, there are thousands of u.s. citizens that don't want to work, look at the homeless shelters and the big city streets are full of them. I devise it is sad...most foreign workers show up every morning, work a full daylight and give 101%. I've worked since I be 15, starting with summer job, then working after university, and so on and so forth. You learn so much general public when you've been around them.

US workers are reluctant to work for smaller amount than minimum wage, without benefits close to payments to Social Security, unemployment, etc.

It's a money issue. The employers want cheap foreign labor. You would regard that the government would not allow it and that's why they do restrict the hiring of them but still... The labor force here cannot adopt low paying jobs because the cost of living is so high-ranking here. It costs money to pay for rent, a mortgage, a sports car, etc. You shouldn't pay your rent?? The money have to come from somewhere.

We don't have so-called skilled labor because our school system is not keeping pace beside today's demands. Employers change constantly. It is difficult to hold on to up. Our science and math departments are lagging. We enjoy the people and we enjoy more educated ancestors who can get the schooling and skills needed to fulfill the jobs but employer don't want to pay when they can grasp someone cheaper. My dad is in this situation. He is an electrical fix with lots of experience. He have stayed ahead of the technology because he works very unyielding. He is very smart. I've be told that by so many giant level executives my intact life that my dad is friends beside. These people backing each other out and are users big time. It's a sense I feel the passageway I do.

If the lanlord let them in I regard as it's ok. But otherwise they have to own a warrant. Call the sherrif's dept (non emergency line) and ask them! Different states have different law. Your's may be different than mine... Call and ask, they'll transmit you!

Talk to your lanlord about it. See if they are showing him a warrant or why he is letting them contained by. Request that he stop doing it.

How can i remove an expired restraining order from the court store?

My ex-girl friend had issued a restarining command (RO) against me ordering me not to contact her or her children. She have done so in hope to verbs my security clearance as a revenge of me going away her.
The judge have granted a RO for ONE year.
The RO has expired finishing month without any violation.
What and how should be able to remove this RO from my archives?
Any advise would be appreciated.

That is not exactly true. A record of the court transaction does remain, but the outcome can be hidden from public scenery. Such things are called expungements. Your attorney will know exactly what I'm discussion about. Now purely because you petition the court to have the journal expunged does not mean they will articulate yes, but it is your recourse for cases such as these.
