I find politics a very dirty business. Often those who are principled don't stay in attendance long or if they do they become corrupted themselves. This however is not always the overnight case. There have be politcians down through the centuries who have made a core positive impact. The trouble with politics is that they are so aflame to get the vote that they stand for anything is popular at the time. Human beings are twisted by nature and this is exacerbated when they are surrounded by politics. I find that all party in politics when it comes to the crunch are extreme within one way or another so I would say that none of the party are actually pro-family. The greens are not anti-family because they want to protect the environment, they are anti-family because of other positions that they hold.

Most people own no moral foundation. Society trains us from infancy using praise so that our behavior will be acceptable. By the time we're adults, our conscience is basically a set of trained feelings. This is not morality.
Since at hand is no foundation other than emotional state, laws can swing their moral opinions by varying what society teaches.
