Is it legal for us citizens/ civilians to paint/ modify their cars to look similar to a police car?

I know have emergency flashers is totally illegal and I enjoy no desire to install them. However, I would really love to paint my car black and white complete next to bumpers. I am doing this NOT out of mockery for the police, but out of respect for the police. I really like the look of a police saloon and always fantasize one behind the controls of one of those vehicles.
Answers: There probably is a tenet against it. You can understand why here would be. Imagine someone in distress running toward your vehicle thinking you are a police officer. We really cannot have that.
It's not lawful, no.

Best Buy even had to repaint their black and white VW Bug "Geek Squad" cars as the CHP said they looked too much resembling police cars.

Richard
no...not legal.

What is a FOREIGN NATIONAL ?

i heard that some wicked mexican immigrants claim to be "foreign nationals" if they are arrested. within is a potential issue in that this might require that police transport them to and from embassy ? i also saw MSNBC dateline , the child molester show and in that was an indian man, who said to the police that he be a foreign national / wanted an atty. does mortal a foreign national make any difference ? does this status clear people more difficult to prosecute ? exempt from tenet ?
Answers: A "Foreign National" is simply a person who is a citizen of any country bar the one that he is currently in. Doesn't business whether he's there reasonably or not - every non-citizen is a foreign national.

The only difference it make in decree is access to your Embassy / Consular staff.

The US has signed the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. One of the jargon of this treaty is that if a person is arrested within a foreign country, the arresting officer is required to tell him that he have the legal right to consent to his Embassy or Consulate know that he's been arrested, and that Consular staff consequently have the right to come to the young offenders` institution and meet next to him.

So if you, as an American, are arrested in another country, the cop is supposed to detail you that, and then the American consulate is allowed to come and stop by you. If a foreigner is arrested in America, alike rules are supposed to apply.

BUT.. it no longer applies to Americans in abundant countries. The US Supreme Court ruled in "Bustillo v Johnson" that even though the VCCR is valid decree in the US, here are no consequences to breaking it, and that if a cop does not tell a foreigner he have the right to contact his Consulate, or if they refuse to allow Consular staff to see him, zilch happens.

As a result, several other countries around the world hold had court rulings that they no longer consider the US to be a full associate of the VCCR, which means that Americans surrounded by those countries have, resembling foreigners in this country, lost the right to take help from the Embassy or Consulate if they are arrested.

Since Bustillo be a Mexican, and he was unacceptable to contact the Mexican Consul, Mexico was the first country to do this, so if you ever return with arrested in Mexico, don't bother asking to telephone call your Embassy or Consulate, because you no longer have that right within Mexico, or in lots other countries.

Richard
Turn it around; what would you do if you got arrested surrounded by a foreign country -- probably try to contact the American Embassy, right?

This is no different -- doesn't mean much usually, except surrounded by the case of means crimes (since many countries don't allow the extermination penalty and might contact the State Dept.) or actual diplomats.
A foreign national can be defined as "a creature who has no endorsed justification to be contained by a country".

This is opposite to a human being who has "papers" or some type of legitimate status which gives him/her interim or permanent rights to live within that country... Like tourism, student, work, etc.

The common public usage of the permanent status "alien" and the legal usage of "alien" confuses the issue. "Foreign national" possibly should be used to clarify the issue - until that term become abused and maligned so much that society again, don't know what they're saying.

Texas Laws?

can someone tell me the unknown laws contained by texas for shooting a handgun in your property inside or outside your house contained by self defense.
Answers: Texas is a castle law state, so you can shoot an intruder within self defense in your home. Outside, you enjoy to retreat first (no stand-your-ground law).
it's legal. you hold the right to bare arms to protect your property,

but i'm still waiting to hear the decree on that person that kill two hispanic robbers who was on his neighbors property who he kill.
i don't think they hold a law for you to nude arms and protect your neighbors belongings.
I think Mr. Horn might in reality get stale after he killed the two intruders that be leaving his neighbors property. I newly saw on FOX 26 News today that according to the law...if you are defending yourself or another person's property from a robbery you are allowed to use poisonous force. Something I didn't know until today.

Will someone in texas hire me next to a felony?

Answers: I find that ex-felons have the best luck finding fully clad paying work in the construction and grease and gas industries.
It is possible. Depending on the offense, some employers are prepared to give a second providence to felons, but it's not going to be unforced. I am on Felony probation (deferred adjudication) for drug possession, and even though I have not be formally convicted, I still had a complex time finding work because it still showed the arrest and charge on my criminal record. You wouldn't believe how lots jobs I get turned down for because of my background; job that I was more than qualified for. I found work after a few months, and they didn't comfort about my setting. You just gotta hang on to on pushin,' as the old folks influence. Don't give up, and don't permit anyone discourage you. You may have to literally start "at the bottom" and work your mode up, but it will all earnings off contained by the end. I know it's cliche, but everyone make mistakes. Some just don't find caught. You may want to try your town's branch of the Texas Workforce Commission. Good luck to you.

Can I get the decree involved?

Okay, here's the deal. A co-worker and I be vying for the same promotion a few weeks ago. When I get wind that he be getting it over me, I quietly pulled my boss aside and informed him that said co-worker have been certain to drink on the job. It be the complete truth, but I had be afraid of revealing the information because I didn't want any workplace drama. However, I felt that he did not deserve to be promoted underneath such circumstances.

Of course my boss was shocked, and get a few other employees to corroborate my story. Unfortunately, the boss is a bit...resourcefully, inept, and somehow between me telling him and him recitation the district manager, name got mentioned. The member of staff in examine was put within a "quit or be fired situation," so he of course quit. Here's where on earth it gets complicated.

(To be continued within details...)
Answers: "a) Did my boss do wrong by revealing my name when he expressly promised I would remain anonymous?"

'wrong' is contained by your mind and his. It certainly wasn't evil.

"Also, he fabricated and embellished certain details of my story to organize the DM to believe that the employee be stealing - is that illegal to misrepresent what I said?"

Illegal, no, but it might donate the employee valid grounds for a slander lawsuit against the manager.

"b) Can I bring to the fore any charges against the employee's roommate for harassing me at work and at home?"

If you think you're within danger from him, you can ask for a restraining lay down.

"c) Is there any approach I can get the authorities involved contained by removing my property from this guy's shed?"

Sure, explain to the local cops that you're scared of him,and enjoy a cop go beside you when you go to collect your stuff.

Richard
I surmise you went for a time overboard in trying to seize your promotion. You may still not get it because of adjectives the drama you have cause.

You have really gotten yourself within a mess now. You may own to find a new commission now.

And yes you can send for the police to meet you nearby and pick up your clothes
1. Your boss was wrong within revealing your name
2. Yes you can directory harassment charges against him and his roommate. You can also record a restraining order if they made threats against you.
3. Call your local police (NOT 911) and explain to them that you have personal belongings that this man refuse to return to you. Ask them to please escort you to his home to retrieve your belongings. Some police stations will some won't. If they say it is a civil thing and there is zilch that they can do. Then you will have to sue him within small claims court to either bring back the property or be reimburesed for the property.
4. Whatever you do do not go over nearby by yourself or you and your boyfriend. You are asking for trouble if you do.
You need to contact the police and ask them to come out beside you to KEEP THE PEACE while you remove your property from the co-worker's shed. Additionally, I would seek/file a restraining order against the two. They are immensely angry at you and for good function but they are not handling their anger very capably and it might escalate into something physical and you don't want to get involved surrounded by that. If the men were in truth drinking on the job...they should be fired but if you thought here was something wrong beside it when you found out, you should have said something roughly speaking it when you first had acquaintance about it and not wait until the guy was getting the promotion over you.

Can a school legitimately confiscate a business cell phone?

I was contained by my high school's library during lunch when a business telephone call came surrounded by. I am starting a company, and on the other side was a scheme capitalist calling. I answered the call, taking it outside (it would've run out by the time I get out, and she isn't known for answering calls), but have the phone confiscated. My iPhone has confidential endeavour capitalist files and data on it, and the executive director said that it be illegal for them to confiscate the property, which her lawyer justified as larceny, which is registered property of the Silicon Valley Venture Capital Roundtable. Their rationale is since I have answered the call, I be, according to my contract, on company time and thus at the time of confiscation, an member of staff on public property. Does this follow through? I'm in California lower than the Fremont Union High School District, in bag any specifics need be cited. I'm trying to hang on to this from escalating, but I want to know if the case is consistent and legal formerly getting in.
Answers: Since the prohibition is for CELL PHONES, regardless of giving and content, and since a library is a place where race go to STUDY, or should, I'd vote the school be acting properly. The public property/employee rationale is ridiculous. You are a student when you are at school. I would step so far as to say that if you are ANYWHERE but lunch, brunch (are you kid me?) or a common nouns that is unused for educational purposes, e.g. a courtyard, you are surrounded by violation of the rule.

If one be to use your logic, people would be using cell phones adjectives over the campus becuase it is a public place. The fact that it is a public place does not have it in mind you can use it without restriction. As long as you are a student, you are a student every minute you are contained by school. If you are NOT a student or other being authorized to be on campus, you are trespassing. Your business people should be told that you are off limits when you are at school. If your buisness is more momentous, quit school. Dont subject other students to your conversations within a library. I cant believe you even think that's legitimate.

EDIT: If you are acting as an "incorporated minor" on school grounds, you are no longer a student. You are trespassing.
So, what are the school's policy in relation to cell phones.

This sounds like you are complaining more or less your rights being violated, but don't offer a bleep about your responsibilities, such as following rules you don't necessarily approaching.
The school's policy regarding phones is the final policy, and it will be upheld. Who the phone belongs to and who is on the other wrapping up of the call is completely irrelevant as far as the institution is concerned.

But it's great that you're starting a business as a high conservatory student. Good luck with that. Just remember that businessmen enjoy to follow laws freshly like everyone else.
"An member of staff on public property" - No - you are an underaged student on school property! Big difference!

And businessmen on public property doesn't bring special rights either! Follow the rules, regardless of who you are!
Unless the rules hold changed in libraries...I be under the synopsis that it was frowned upon to discuss...using the computer is one thing...but creating a vociferous environment by talking on your cell phone is surrounded by poor taste and probably against their rules. You should ask to see the rules for the library specifically.

Can anyone tell me what directive the CIA broke by destroying a tape of an interrogation?

My analysis is that there are no law requiring the taping of interrogations nor the destructions of such tape. Much ado about nought.
Answers: No, I have not hear any.

But I have hear that some senate investigating committees requested such tapes surrounded by general but not specifically. And by destroying them they (the cia people) are subject to criminal act of impedding those investigations.

But due to the politicising of the war on horror and the divided nature of the political party, I'm sure some poor SOB at the CIA would probably be brought forth on charges if such tapes be ever to surface.

So the leadership at the department height, of any of these men decided it be in the best interest of these men if such tape simply did not exist.

Kind of like the photos from Abu Gharib prison. Those contained by the pictures went to put in prison. Those in charge of them be forced out of the military or were told they would never know how to move up by way of officer letters of reprimand.

If your friend be on tape waterboarding a murderer for information. And have repeatedly risked his life and spent months to years away from his ethnic group to gather intelligence would you be zealous to allow his life to be ruined because that obese SOB TEDDY Kennedy wanted to ranking political points.

Me either
Obstruction of Justice. Only because they have previously been ordered by a court not to verbs the tapes. They singular destroyed the tapes after the latest interrogation laws took place. So what I am guessing is that they have some terrorists in a room and they did what they have to do to get information. ( zilch wrong with that surrounded by my book) but some people mull over that that is a no no. That terrorists should enjoy rights. blah blah blah. So in writ to cover their CIA butts they destroyed the tapes of them man naughty little CIA agents. Hell can you blame them. They are told to do anything it takes to bring back the answers. When they do they want to press charges against them and send them to prison. That is our wonderful rule for you.

How effective our law on impeachment?

Answers: Very effective, since they are so knotty to use.
Impeachement is a tool that is so powerful and death-defying, it should only be used when within is a national consensus to do so.
very decisive as liberal fanatics arent competent to corrupt the system to suit their needs for the current witch hunt.
