Question about summons?

Hi! If you received a summons to move about to court and you are sued by a collection agency. If I called them and settle the debt do I still own to go to court?
Answers: No, if you hail as and settle the debt, they will draw up the settlement papers and send them to you for your signature. Once adjectives the paperwork is in demand, they will file the settlement papers near the court. You should not have to shift to court; though I would ask to be on the safe side.
too sea, you've been sued. should enjoy settled it before appendage.

good luck
The knob word is "settle"
No you don't have to turn.
if the debt is settled there would be nil to go to court over, though you will probably own to pay them more in a minute than the original debt amount. you would hold to call them and see because they might not know how to accept sum from you anymore, depending on how far it has gone. sounds too far to me, but dutiful luck!
You want to ensure that the case have, in certainty, been settled. Do you hold it in writing? If so, provide a copy of the writing to the court ahead of time. If not, ask the collection agency for something stating that the concern has be continued or disposed. Otherwise, I would suggest you appear to protect your rights.
no, at least not within PA. I would contact the court and inquire to them. The most that will happen is a judgement be file against you. If you don't appear the full amount judgement could be filed. The creditor wishes to withdraw the complaint at lowest possible.
You cannot trust beaurocracies to do their own paperwork right, just as they can't trust consumers to foot stuff off.

Better run to court anyway, just within case, and fetch with you the proof that you own paid sour the debt, unless
(a) your lawyer say you do not need to be within
(b) you visit the clerk of the court to ASK if this summons have been canceled because you compensated off the debt
Be worn-out of answers from yahoo answers. You don't want to play dice with your credit. Be sure that you hold something in writing from the creditor that say your debt with them is settled. Also, go and get the court to fax you something that says the complaint have been withdrawn.

I'm guessing that when you settled, you settled for an amount smaller number than the total you owed? If so, it is possible (although unlikely) that the court could enter a default decision requiring you to pay the full amount.

Chances are the complaint have been withdrawn and you don't obligation to appear, but I wouldn't leave this to casual. Get everything in writing. If you aren't sure when your court date comes up, you better stir, and bring any documentation you have near you. They'll probably just transport you home if you have any document which shows that you settled, but it's not worth the back of not showing up.
if ur r summoned by court u must definitely appear since the court either by urself r by an attorney for representing on behalf of u.eventhough the concern was settled u must appear since the court on the date specified in the summon,to explain the make-up.

Do u have to money a fee for a crown to sign a papper to bring back ur in heritance from ur uncle?

Answers: You should not hold to pay a allowance.

Where can I find information about law...?

...related to revealing somebody's identity on television? (For instance, contained by reality shows, they regularly blur people's faces. What liability are involved?)
Answers: This involves state and federal privacy laws. Generally, a human being in public (street, park, mall), does not hold a reasonable expectation of privacy, so they usually own little recourse if they are filmed and their imagery are put on TV. Faces may be blurred out if the background general public might distract viewers' attention from the primary characters in the show, or to avoid claims from relatives that a show had no right to use their imagery (even if the claims are baseless). If the people human being filmed are speaking or acting within a way that add material and content to the show, they may claim they enjoy a copyright interest in their creative contribution to the show (even if it be unwitting) and thus should be paid.

There are plentiful state and federal privacy laws involved:

My supervisor, a man, asks me about my twelve-monthly exam who I use etc. It makes me discomfited, is that harrassme

WE work in a medical environment and anytime we are training for anything he other uses my gyno appointment as an example and its weird. WE work for a hospitla ith a range of clinics but it is NOT a gynocologist focused position.
Answers: It is harrassment, even if you don't tell him and he doesn't know. If you are not comfortable discussion to him about it, collaborate to your human resources department. They can talk to him on your behalf.
There are two types of sexual stalking: quid pro quo and hostile work environment.

Quid pro quo means 'this for that'...ie, have sex to remain in a apt position or to not get fired. This is not the armour.

Hostile work environment, maybe. Whenever you quality like somebody is target you, you should confront him and tell him that you don't appreciate the comments. If he respects this, consequently there is no necessitate to take this up to the EO board and conceivably ruin the guy's career.

The supervisor may be aware of that you two are on good language and he can speak freely about things similar to that. I'm sure that you've felt that you be closer to somebody than the other person thought, so break it to him that you don't want to be the target of any more gynological question.

If he continues, threatens you with demotion or person moved to a different position, or just any averse power movement, after that can be attributed to hostile work environment sexual harassment.
It CAN be nuisance if you haven't told him you are uncomfortable next to him using this example every time. He is a fully qualified, experienced professional and as such is being insensitive or plain rude by doing this. Speak to someone within a senior position to you, preferably female who may be capable of shed some light on why he's approaching this or how to deal beside him.
It may just be that he doesn't realise you don't appreciate human being used as an example. Some consultants are like this, but its not nice to constantly embarrass a junior from a position of trust.
Speak to someone outside the group, but inside the hospital. A senior nurse may hold the key to see you to handle this diplomatically.
Good luck.

Disparity in sentencing of Rich vs Poor defendants?

A rich executive can steal $20,000,000 and lone get 10 years within jail; a poor kid writes a check for $20 (counterfit check) and could seize 20 years.

Yet, in the example below, the courts are liable to lower the jail time if the rich executive have proven that he stole a few million less. WHERE'S THE JUSTICE?
Also, why is it that Black defendants find more jail time but no one is varying the JUSTICE SYSTEM?

See executive thief example below:
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/071210/conrad_bl...
Answers: The worst example of the disparity contained by death cost cases. Rich murderers almost never get sentenced to loss while almost all release sentences are carried out on the poor.

95 percent of death row inmates across America, and 100 percent of those within Tennessee (my state), could not afford their own attorney

Edit: to reinforce capnbill's point- Although 12 percent of the U.S. population is black, African Americans make up over 80 percent of those on annihilation row
dont be black or poor in american if you are going to acquire caught

blacks almost always recieve much harsher sentancing than whites contained by almost every state
On the other hand, most folks achieve probation for their first offense. The rich fellow's theft be no different, except in the amount and so some would ponder that he ought to get probation. As for th 20 dollar counterfeit check, I would be shocked to see a prison sentence unless the personage had prior convictions and have chosen to keep up a existence of crime.

Do you think Marijuana should be allowed, and why?

This is a topic that comes up a lot around here I newly wanted to know what you adjectives think just about it.
Answers: Yes. Legalize it! In my opinion I dream up Alcohol is alot more damaging, I own never heard of a domestic dispute or a serious crime occurring under the influence of pot.Maybe an argument over a Kit Kat or a pack of Twinkies would result.

I vote tax it, go it in Liquor stores and get the age to purchase and use it 21 like alcohol. I know as a parent, I would a bit have my children smoke a touch dope when they are older than drink within excess. Just look at the stats on deaths over alcohol and later look at the stats on deaths cause by marijuana... I have found that surrounded by 2001, excessive alcohol use was responsible for approximately 75,000 preventable death. Sad isn't it? Also here is this little tidbit: Nearly 100 million Americans admit to have used marijuana at least once surrounded by their lives, while some 25 million admit to have done so in yesteryear year. With a death rate of 35 out of 100 million, it doesn't give the impression of being very dodgy.

Here they are:

Alcohol related death stats:: http://www.cdc.gov/MMWR/preview/mmwrhtml...

Marijuana related death::http://www.briancbennett.com/charts/deat...

Marijuana to me is not the "gateway" drug, if you are drinking at a kegger, chances are that you will stumble across more "serious" drugs. I believe alcohol to be the gateway drug.. what roughly all the drugs that parents and docs are putting their kids on at an impulsive age? I think those may be the true gateway drugs. Self medicate next to an antidepressant or a glass of brandy. That's allowed, but not to smoke a amalgamated when you have have a long day. HMMM. Seems a bit unbalanced to me.
Yes, as it be said before it is no worse than alcohol.

Although, I do regard as their should be restrictions. Just as we shouldn't drink and drive, smoking and driving should be outlawed as well. There should be age borders to buying it.
yes, take the money away from drug dealer

anyways, why pay to introduction something we can grow right here

btw i dont smoke the stuff at all, im jovial with a nice cold beer, LOL
I focus that it should be legal. And I reflect on that it should be taxed (like the cigarette tax).

(Think how much money could be save by not having non-violent marijuana dealer in young offenders` institution!)
Absolutely...it's been shown that the parliament spends twice as much prosecuting pot dealers as they do the more hurtful drugs...more people are spending duration sentences in prison for pot offenses than any other drug as ably...what most people probably don't know is that hindmost in the tardy 60s, president Nixon had a policy scientific study done on marijuana and it be determined that it was no worse than alcohol...but nought more was done because of the Christian right wing conservatives who lobbied to preserve marijuana on the list of excluded substances...

As of right now roughly 36 states have legalized it's use for "medicinal purposes"...

The law governing alcohol and tobacco could be used to regulate the growth and sale of marijuana here within the U.S. with little modification...if they required strict license and regulation for potential growers...allowed its sale solely in state run shops to race over the age of 21...then duty the hell out of it...the income generated could subsidize every public program surrounded by the country for generations...assuming the governing body didn't frig it up with the typical red tape bureaucratic charm in place presently...
Yes, the US is economically shooting ourselves in the foot by keeping it off the record. It is a great textile material and grows surrounded by poor soil. It would be a great replacement industry for Tobacco. It would be a great replacement industry for the Appalachian region where the coal have run out.
The potential for pharmaceutical use is huge too. It is a great resource to exploit and we can't because it is illegal.
I can't visualize why anyone would want to smoke it. I tried it at 15, I hated it, but that shouldn't force us to stop using it.
Legalese it ,Tax the crap out of it. We already enjoy the system in place to con troll it (ATF, With the huge decline contained by tobacco use they should have plenty of time on their hand.) And our police are well equipped to con troll over users.
As a individual that doesn't use I would love to see some tax burden lift and I don.t believe that the user cost will go up.
ie.Product cost will shift way down, import tax will bring it back to where on earth it was. Overall it will be a better product unless they win into a max THC level, but I give attention to it would be more like alcohol where on earth there is a (proof) mark on the package that help corespond to a max legal blood tox define
yes because it has plentifully of medical benefits. There are people out at hand, mainly elder, who are on several different types of medications at one time. All the medication is have a bad effect on their overall vigour. Marijuana would be able to replace most of those medication minus having as big a denial impact on their lives.

Plus, contrary to popular belief, it is a lot safer than alcohol and cigarettes
To everyone who say yes, just remember that once it become legal the goverment get control. They get to set the price, due it and grow it. You still wont be able to drive beneath the influence and if you get caught, its matching as drinking. Also jobs will still drug audition and can deny employment even though it become "legal".

What law prohibits a man from marry his wife's daughter?

Note: not his biological or adopted daughter
Answers: State specific; it's not informal in every state. Just yucchy

Of course if it really is his "Wife's Daughter" bigamy applies
You niggardly his STEPdaughter. If Woody Allen can marry HIS adopted daughter, I don't see why other associates can't.

It is a bit creepy, though, AND he has to divorce the first wife.
In Ky it is private to marry a stepchild. (even after divorcing the spouse...*lol*)
I don't remember what law prohibits it, but I just this minute did research on this.
One of the answerers was correct when they told you it be state specific.
According to a question asked a couple of days ago, it seem that it is legal within Texas.

What are the legal requirements earlier a gift is valid?

If the donor deliver a deed stating the bequest to be transferred does legal title elapse on the delivery of the achievement? Please include sourses, statutory or otherwise.
Answers: Possession of the gift property, a valid tranfer achievement free of encumberance duly recorded signed by adjectives property owners.

State code.
In the UK, law relating to gifts is much equal as creating a valid trust. 3 certainties have need of to be fulfilled, Certainty of intention (is it certain that the donor intended to dispense the gift), certainty of subject business (what the gift is designed ot be is certain) and certainty of objects (person[s] who are to receive the gift) as long as i.e. all gravy nearby should be no problem as you say it have been done by achievement. If it wasnt it would matter if it be a gift of ground or of personalty.
