Different state state different things roughly people breaking within. However if someone breaks into your house, and you shoot them, you are defending your home. The police usually hve a warrant or reasonable effect to enter a dwelling. I do not care if you hear them say-so they are entering or not. YOU SHOOT A COP YOU ARE GOING DOWN! The court system is not going to believe that you didn't know it was them. If anything you will probably enjoy the fullest extent of the laws punishment.

Because it falls under the public information law of the US. However, I agree with you. I've be stalked before and empire getting information about me, as far as I'm concerned, are a blatant infringement of privacy. Unfortunately, privacy laws are few and far between, as very well as completely undetailed and vague. Write your congressmen and try to bring back a bill passed!
