I would vote 30 days would be nicer of you, but you should research your state laws on renting and such.

also, within texas, most prisons are self supportive as far as inmates food and recreation go. texas grows it's own crops and raises its own live stock that the inmates munch through and raise. it is a HUGE agricultural system comprised of in the order of 150 state wide prison unit.
in texas, contained by rural counties, prisons are a growth industry. we are lock-em up nutts! we have a 150,000 bed prison system beseeching for more money to build more units to lock more populace up.
a lot of this have to do with federaly mandate sentences for drug offenses, dwi's, and non violent offenses. that wishes to change. but again, a growth industry wants to protect its product and a prison systems product is inmates. so this creates a self perpetuating beurocracy that have very little to do next to justice, (it's almost obscene).
as far as the departure penalty go, i don't believe the 400 meg figure posted above. no passageway it costs that much to put somebody to sleep from the time of arrest to the time of the shot. i don't believe that number. maybe someone come up with that number, but it is not a biddable number.
