Answers: Because sex offender are ichier. Instead of tracking all convicted felon we track those that we think are ichy. Logic and ruling don't often assemble.

Apparently the sarcasm in my answer be lost. These laws carry passed because people push their legislature to address "the problem" what ever the problem of the sunshine is. When sex offenders started hitting the report on a regular basis ethnic group felt "something" have to be done. A bunch of people jump on the band lorry that it would stop if we just know where they lived. They achieve this idea that their kids will be safe and sound as long as a registered sex offender does not live in the vicinity. This is fallacy for two reason:
1. You have no hypothesis how many un-registered sex offender live nearby. The sex guilty party arrested in California a year or so ago molested hundreds of kids and be not registered. A person have to be arrested and convicted to become registered.
2. It is based on the false assumption that sex offender will not travel to find victims. If you force a sex offender to live 20 miles from the nearest arts school, he will drive 20 miles to get at hand.

I chew over the above answers all misread your cross-examine. I take it as "why do sex offender have to provide their address at all?"

A guy who usually writes accurate answers says above because sex offenses are "icky". That is just about valid grounds for the ex post facto laws we are inspiring on sex offenders.
