Can you turn someone in for identity theft when it was not against you?
The person it was done against is too scared to turn the person in who did it because it was family.
Answers:
yes you can if you want to lose a friend if he won't do it then what make you think you should Unless he is married to you I would push him or her to do it so your not the bad guy!
It's worth a try, but eventually the person with their identity stolen will have to get involved. Why would you care about that persons feelings anyways, they obviously didn't care about the feelings of those whose identity they stole!
You can come forward and there will be an "investigation." However, if the victim won't say that something happened, nothing will come of it. You are better off convincing the victim of the identity theft to come forward.
if you have any guilt feelings at all you should. you would want a stranger to do that for you wouldnt you? i would!
I don't see why not. But like the others have said you need to get the actual victim to come forward and file a complaint. Like the saying goes "no victim ,no crime".
You can turn this person in as a possible suspect, and provide information where this person might be, but without actual proof, you could be stepping into a lion's den. If you and the person who was the victim of this crime have a strong enough bond, then you can be this person's support until the perpetrator is caught...
You could do it but investigating and prosecuting the case would be almost impossible without the cooperation of the victim
if you sue the one who stole tour identity for sure it will affect you relationship.. Know what is more important to you, relationship or money.
Btw, i just want to share a helpful article about what you are going to do if your identity is stolen
