I wish to challenge my ex for joint custody of our child, how do i do this and am i likely to be successful?
My ex is expecting our baby, but is being obstructive to the idea of me having access. I want maximum involvement in it's upbringing, so i plan to apply to the courts for joint custody. Under UK law, am i likely to be successful, if so how do i go about it?

In the US unless you have issues with abuse or drugs etc where you would be deemed unfit, she cannot keep you from seeing the raising the baby. Our laws here are based on yours so the same rights would probably apply.
The new laws were introduced so that the father of the child has parental responsibility, make sure your name is put on the birth certificate, & you can apply to the court if your ex still denies you access & you are willing to pay for the child, for parental responsibility, you would have to go & see a solicitor to put your case across, the only time they would stop the parental rights is if it was a violent relationship, but good luck to you in it & well done for wanting to take responsibility for your child not many men do.
Hope this helps you but you do have full legal rights.
