If your a runaway, in a complete diffrent state than the one your reported in, can you get a job undetected?

I am of age to get a job and live in a completely diffrent state than the one I left, I have been gone for a long time but I want to get a real job like at the mall ect. I understand they do backround checks but I think that it wouldnt matter because the record is clean in the state I live in and am not reported to be a runaway here, can I safely get a job?
