Has anyone had problems with health workers scams?

My mother was invalid and we hired a nurses assistant to help care for her. She weasled her way into my father's confidence and suddenly she has power of attorney and is into his financial dealings. Has anyone else had this happen and if so, what did you do about it.
My father finally saw the light and revoked the power of attorney but I am curious as to how many people this has happened to?

It happens quite a bit. It's very important for the children to stay involved when you have an elderly parent. When they are sick, they depend on who ever is available.

I've heard of it several times. Probably best to have your self named as guardian if they are unfit to make their own decisions. That way they can't even grant a power of attorney.
