Would child protective services make it to where you can't see your children?
or talk to your children for leaving them home alone for about an hour or 2.
I live in texas and here there isn't an age that you can't leave your child home alone. The only requirements is that the child is able to call 911 and knows how to get in contact with someone in case of emergency.
A friend of mine has 2 kids ages 10 & 6 that he left home alone for a little while. When he got back cops were there and they arrested him for leaving the children home alone. Now cps says he can't see or talk to his children.
Do you think there is more to this story?
I do, this guy fell inlove and kissed a 14 yr old girl so that makes me wonder if there is suspicion of him touching one of his kids.
what do you think?
Answers:
I am sure there is more to the story. Even if he broke the law or endangered the children by leaving them alone for just a little while, that would probably not justify CPS in taking the kids away. I'd guess that he had a past history of involvement with CPS, or when they came to investigate this case, they found something worse that just leaving the kids alone.
If they know he has been involved with a young teenager, that might be part of it. What he is doing with her is child abuse.
Also, you're right that in Texas, there is not a specific age where kids can be left alone.
i think you are very nosy
Texans have always been trigger happy (look at their gun laws and the Texan who sued an Australian for touching his shoulder trying to tell him to move out the way).
It does depend on determining factors of a situation like did the 10 year old have the parent's number? How long were they gone for? Personally, I'm not too comfortable with both of them being home alone but for a short time (20 minutes at most) should be okay.
If the father of a 10 and 6 year old child "fell in love with" and kissed a 14 year old he's seriously got issues. I wouldn't want him near his kids (or mine) either.
I think that both of these factors worked together and were brought up in court which ensured that the father could not go near his kids.
No--there are laws on this.
age 9-12 a child can be left alone for short periods of time (less than 2 hrs.)
age 12 and older, child can be left alone for up to 6-8 hrs.
I do think there is more to the story, but you should just keep your kids away from him. Also, the parents of the 14 yr old are idiots if they let her around him.
