Can I Get Sued For Singing Other Bands Music?

i wanna know if i can get in trouble for takeing other peoples songs and changing them and then singing them at shows or for our myspace profile

It would be a copywrite infringement and plagerism and they could sue you if they chose to do so.
as a practical matter, no unless you are making a ton of money using other people's work
