Why can't I file a law suit against my school?
Okay, so if you read the question I posted before this, you'll understand better.
Why do people say that I won't win? I have one of the top 10 lawyers in the country, who are my parent's attourney.
I do have more proof as to why it's prejudice:
In History class, we were talking about Christianity during the Roman Empire. In 7th grade. Then my teacher listed the 3 oldest religions today. She wrote:
1. Judaism
2. Christianity
3. Islam
She did not say the oldest ABRAHAMIC religions. She just said religions. If you did proper research, you'll find Hindusim is the oldest religion still practiced widely, and in existance.
So why wouldn't I be able to win?
What would help us/me win the case?
(No, I do not go to that school. I go to a liberal-non-religious British School now in Chicago.)

A lawsuit is generally filed when one has a legitimate grievance.
I think you are correct in that Hinduism is older, however even Hinduism has changed since before the time of Abraham and his forefathers and foremothers, so one can argue that both you and your teacher share a little of the truth.
Since you say you attend school in Chicago, I wish you would attend some of the public schools in the South Side. Then you would see some real reasons to file a lawsuit.

u canot sue the school because its not a ligitimate reason the teacher might of made a mistake hey shes just a person shes not perfect n ppl will see that its just childish u can ask the school to tell the teacher to get the info right n they got the goverment behind them to the goverment they met the requirments to teach so u can do anythin about it

If the teacher didn't know they couldn't be sued for a mistake, even if they did they could say they didn't. Also a lot of schools make you sign papers protecting themselves from lawsuits. Why do you want to sue them that bad anyway? I would just let it go.

So, she's wrong. But, I don't think that's a valid lawsuit. Just show her why it should be corrected in her lecture. Besides, did she say Monotheistic religions when she said it to the class.

You have what is called a frivolous lawsuit. It's "sue crazy" people like you that are why the courts are bogged down with cases similar to yours.
The reason you will NOT PREVAIL is because you personally, are not being injured by the curriculum being taught. If you have a problem with something that is being taught, you should file some sort of complaint with the Director of Curriculum for a ruling.

Just because she has her facts wrong doesn't mean that you need to file a law suit against the school. It's a waste of time! Who cares what the oldest religion is anyways it all comes down to the reason there are those religions and that's because they each have a god the worship and pray to. Whats this world coming to?

Apparently, if the school didnt think you sounded good, they didnt have to put you in the musical... If they were full of students already in the musical, they didnt have to put you in... they have no law that says all students are required to be in the musical...

griefies that sounds petty I was slammed into by a pickup at 50 mph in a little Toyota the other guy didn't have insurance and he took off from the sight before the cop came out and i have dent in my forehead dizzyness and headaches and the cops are on his side.I ain't suing .And over a year ago my son took a bite of food in a smorgasbord that had a bloody bandage in it didn't get to sue and my uncle got hit by a speeding car in a school zone and his head bounced off the curb-no suit and my mom slipped and fell in a rained in hospital entrance and messed up her knee for the rest of her life-no suit

She didn't mention the Babylonian, Egyptian religions, or Shinto or Buddism. What do you base your research on?

First, what is the point??? did it really offend you that much?
Anyways. The teacher was probably just mentioning three of the oldest religons, not the three oldest. Schools can decide on what they want to teach and what not to teach, They probably just didnt want to teach about Hindusim. People know more about Judaism, Christianity, and Islam than they do about Hindusim.
So let me get this straight? You want to sue your school because you think your teacher was wrong about history? I mean that would be something that you just say "Hey teach, isn't Hinduism older than the other three?" To sue someone, you have to be injured, so to speak. How were you injured? Are you offended that your teacher apparently is not as smart as you? Sorry. It doesn't work that way. The courts don't appreciate wasting their time with frivolous lawsuits even though filing a complaint would be a waste of money because you wouldn't have any valid claim to base it on anyway. Go talk to your parent's lawyer and he will tell you the same thing.
Also, word to the wise: If you go around threatening to sue everybody all the time, you will find yourself having very few friends in the future.
To start with, why are you even wanting to file a suit against the school? Are you really just trying to cause problems? You are right about Christianity not being the second oldest. I do believe that Judaism is the oldest. But you can't just sue because you can correct a teacher. I've done the same. Teachers are human and thus they are not always going to be 100% correct.
Let this drop. Move on with you life.
The problem you'll have is in showing beyond a reasonable doubt that you were in fact discriminated against. Which is to say that you can show they didn't choose you for the play because of our ethnic background or your religion and not for some other reason. I believe that with such things as play's it would be difficult to show this.
That is not to say it isn't possible, and with a good lawyer, maybe you can. I wouldn't say that this is really the place to get advice on the subject though. Talk to yuor parents and see what they want to do about, then they can speak with the lawyer and see if he/she thinks you have a reasonable chance.
As for something you can do, why not look up some background information on discrimination cases? Find out what the standards are, see if your evidence would fit those standards. For example, there was a case where a black girl lost the part of Annie in a musical despite being more tallented and sued for discrimination. I believe she won. Maybe look up that case and find out how they showed that she should have gotten the part instead of the girl that did because of race.
You are right to be upset if you truly believe you are being discriminated against. Perhaps filing a lawsuit would be worth it just to show the school that their discrimination is not acceptable and they might take it more seriously.
However, also consider the consequences of the lawsuit for yourself. You plan on attending the school again, right? Think about how you may be treated if you do sue the school.
In any event, think about all of the possibilities, and choose which is mst important to you.
A good attourney can't win a bad case. I don't know if a top lawyer would waste his/her time with it. she might be wrong but has she really discriminated against a religion? Rather than sue bring this to the school board and challenge the way history is taught. Challenge the facts. What are you really hoping to get out this? Do you want to be paid outrageous sums of money because she was wrong? The reality is that more than half of what is taught in history class is not correct. Don't get me started on American or medieval history. I don't think you have much of a case. what are you going to get out of ruining this ladies life with court dates and a financial burden...grow up
I'm not sure I get it but I understand your anger and hurt but I don't so much of a case she might have given some wrong info thats it don't always resort to lawsuits for sulitions in the futher
