Anyone know if this would be a public record (deaths and reports)?? please read.?
When I was 18 my younger brother (16) commited suicide. I have tons of questions that are still unanswered about this case. Like the origional cop thought it was a homicide and questions about the events that night. My family is no help, all that does is bring up more questions. And the rest of my family that probably has these answers fell apart after this and I cant talk to them about it or they dont want to talk about it. I just want to know if something like this if I can get access to the report or how can I find out any info at all on this. Anything will help I NEED TO KNOW what happend now that Im ready to finally hear it. Its a long and complicated situation and too much info to go into detail about this. Sorry.

Just go to the Sheriff coroners office and ask to speak to whoever was on that particular case. They have all these things on file and besides the death is a matter of public record, just not the details. Make sure you bring your ID and any other information so they can verify that you are a family member who needs answers. Usually they will not have a problem talking to you and letting you read the whole report. If you run into any kinds of problems you may have to seek an attorney for help, but I doubt that this will be a problem.
i could be totally wrong, but i think you should be able to see the reports under the freedom of information act. im so sorry for your loss. i cant even imagine how tough that must of been on you and your entire family. you should probably call the police office that handled the case. that would be my first guess on where to get more information and access to the records.
soo sorry for you. I would think the police could tell you something since you are over 18, I would also see if it is posible to get a coroners report. much luck to you
