Once you delete the history on the computer, is it erased for good?

just wondering becuause my daughter is the type of person to do something like that look through the computer and see what i've been doing, and i'm the parent supposed to be watching HER so please let me know. nothing i dont want her to see but like she wil lnotice and stop once i delete it.

make your own User name profile, make it password protected, and she will not have access to anything you do.


There are ways of retrieving that information, but it is difficult. The only way you can ensure that this information is not found is to destroy your hard drive, which is probably not a reasonable course of action.
Ahaa..As far as your daughter is concerned, if you delete history, it is erased for good. For an expert in disk-data retrieval nothing is erased unless you explicitly re-write the disk-sectors with garbage data. Just to be sure, you could also clean the temporary-file folder (this is for internet explorer) to be on safer side (remember, there is NO safe side :)
