So ive got court this friday...?

Do i need to bring anything? I was charged of not having a valid proof of insurance and failing to obey a traffic control signal. So i do know i need to bring proof of valid insureance, but will i need pictures of the damages to my car, or money for fines? Is it possible to go to jail for this... even if no one was injured?

Answers:
Definitely take proof of valid insurance. The prosecutor may agree to drop those charges if you can show you have fixed that charge.

If you were the cause of the damages, don't take pictures, unless it is to prove the damage isn't as bad as the state is alleging. Actually, you can take the pictures, just don't introduce them as evidence unless it would refute any evidence presented by the state.

You probably won't go to jail unless you are out of control in the courtroom or have an extensive criminal history. They don't have the space or resources to lock people up for petty offenses like this.

The clerk's office probably won't take a check for the fines and costs. Instead, ask if you can pay the fines and costs within 30 days with a money order or cash. If you fail to pay, you might end up in jail, BTW.

Good luck!

Call the judges clerk beforehand and ask them. You should be able to get a good idea but I would think that if you are working the judge will give you a payment plan, But call his clerk first they have the power too!
Why would you bring pictures of the damage? If the damage was your fault, or that's what they're trying to prove, then the burden is on them to prove it. Don't do the cops' work for them.

Bring the insurance and a checkbook, because you may have to pay additional fines.

As far as charges, that depends on where you are located and how serious the infractions were, but I think if they were going to charge you with a jail-able offense, they'd have done it by now.
