Do you believe in jail house confessions.?
I never took jail house confessions for real.
Like when a person in lock up 'confesses' to his cell mate that he did this crime or that crime' and they use it in court as a jail house confession. I do not think they should be able to.
Mostly I think guys in jail try to make themself look as bad and as evil as they can so people will leave them alone..
Am I right or should they be able to use jail house confessions.?

Now that modern technology allows monitoring of jailhouse phone calls and conversations, it is amazing what inmates talk about. I am not sure that every inmate who claims to have been told something by his cellmate is being truthful, but inmates do talk about their cases. Frequently, their conversations show that they don't really understand the law, but they do make statements that admit key facts of the case not understanding why those facts are incriminating.
I agree with you, no "jailhouse confessions" should be allowed, especially since so many of them are coerced, or they are baited by a planted police officer for just that purpose of details.
I believe that's entrapment ...
I am afraid of the cops, I know what they can do when they really want to. They don't care if they have the wrong guy, and neither do the prosecutors.
I mind my P&Q's and hopefully will never end up in the wrong place at the wrong time ...
Jail house confessions happen a lot, and why not, maybe they decided it was best to be honest and take a plea.
