Why is the government against the Mafia this is Bulls%&t?
All the organization is, is a police department for people that can`t go to the cops. Protection from other guys looking to rip you off. The money they recieve is tribute.
Why couldn`t the FBI just leave it alone. They`re actually against the sale of illegal drugs and it`s ashame the government tried to te the organization to that.
They persue the American dream by any means.

If somebody lends you money you should keep your word and pay it back. They don`t force people to take out a loan. NO they were not involved in drugs in fact if a member is caught selling drugs there is severe punishment because it can comprimise the whole organization.
The government was wrong in this I believe they should be respected they made something from nothing

Probably because its organized crime that took part in such crimes as making and selling illegal drugs, money laundering, from stealing, gambling, prostitution and contract killing. Also, where do you get this "police department for people that cant go to the cops" bit? When was the last time you heard of the cops executing someone for infringing on their turf, or failing to pay for "protection"? And as far as offering protection, you didnt have much choice in the matter, you bought their "protection" or they would make you and whatever asset they wanted disappear. Most times they would target small store owners so they could set up racketeering setups and use the store as a front. They are against the sale of illegal drugs that they themselves couldnt reap the benefits from. Mafia bosses such as Lucky Luciano is considered to be the father of modern organized crime and the mastermind of the massive postwar expansion of the international heroin trade. And when you say that the person caught selling drugs is severely punished, you are right it could compromise the whole organization because then the cops would be looking more at that particular gang. Now the lime light is on them. I think you should do your homework a little more on this before you contradict people. You yourself are going stirctly off of opinion, and unfortunately for you, there are a bunch more facts that disprove what you are saying. Just because it happens in the movies that way doesnt make it real.
