Intellectual Morons part II?

Can't one be against cruelty to animals and still enjoy a tunafish sandwich?

Answers:
Certainly. What's cruel about eating tuna, or any other animal for that matter?

Now if you eat the last of the tuna that your spouse was planning to eat, that's cruel.

If they want to be a hypocrite, then yes.
only if the fish was already dead.
what has cruelty got to go with eating fish or meat? The to are not related.
Look up the definition of cruelty!!
You can have it both ways if you look for "dolphin-safe" tuna. The biggest objection to tuna fishing is that dolphins sometimes get caught in the nets and drown, but some companies employ fishermen who use different methods that are less likely to harm dolphins.

Yes, I know that seems to be placing more value on one species than another, but dolphins are nearly as intelligent as we are and they're innocent bystanders that aren't intended to be caught for food, so I think precautions should be taken to avoid catching or killing non-food marine animals. That's both cruel and wasteful, and in this case probably illegal, since I believe dolphins are a protected species.
Of course you can, but you are being inconsistent, which means you are the intellectual moron. You are opposed to cruelty to animals you are familiar with, like dogs and cats, but fish, cows, pigs, insects, reptiles, etc, you do not care about. So you are not really against cruelty to animals, just some animals.

Don't think about the tuna, hooked by the hundreds and dragged into a huge freezer section in a boat. Freezing to death is said to be a nice way to die. Some are killed and taken apart so the fins and other organs can be sold separately. That's not cruel, is it? And you're not doing the killing when you bite into the tuna ... sandwich, are you?

The real question is, are you prepared to admit that you are NOT against cruelty to ALL animals, just the ones you don't want to eat.
The answer is no.
If while you're eating said tuna fish sandwich, you're thinking about cruelty to tuna, then you won't enjoy the sandwich. The taste of the sandwich won't change. Your perception of the meal will.

It would be like eating baby seal pot pie
