Can anyone explain the public information law for texas? Can a unit of governent give out personal informatio

Answers:
I live in Texas and I know a little bit about what you are asking. You don't say whether we are talking about Federal or State Government. My answer is going to be some what convoluted. Yes and no, for the most part no. If you have signed a release of privacy information, then they can freely release the information to certain agencies. They can release other information that would be listed in the freedom of information act. I will point out if you were going to go buy a house and worked for the Government they might be contacted by the lending agency asking for certain information about you and this is with your knowledge. They can not speak to your job performance. You she add additional information or e-mail me and ask just what information we might be talking about.
