What you think of the Arkansas law that allows people of any age to marry?
I am sure you all saw it on Yahoo's front page. on a Follow up question. One of the senator said "I am concerned about pedophiles coming to Arkansas to find parents who are willing to sign a very young child's consent."
Are there parents that will do that in America?!?!?! And Why? And if ya know, do could those parents not get the same if not worse punishment as the pedophile for doing that??!?!?

Marriage does not imply consent to sexual activity; you can still be charged with rape if your wife is the victim. If some pedophile actually tried to get a marriage license to marry a child, they could almost certainly be arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit sexual assault, conspiracy to endanger a child, etc.
The fact that a state senator wouldn't understand this basic fact about the law just underlines the core problem here: Southerners elect idiots.
Yes, some parents would do that for enough money. It is a law with good intentions that was transcribed into words incorrectly. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

It just seems that the people found a loop hole in the system and the government should try and fix this problem as soon as they can. Any parent that is stupid enough to sign a young child consent in America deserves not to be alive or be able to have no children. I would hope to see the parent have the worse punishment the government can think of but yet still keep them alive to realize what there mistake is. The pedophile deserves to be shot if he or she wants to make love with a child. Its all plain ******* sick
