UK smoking law floughted?
Do you think the current smoking law is being floughted?
I was in my local shopping centre in Eastleigh on Saturday and there were loads of people smoking in the entrance where it clearly said no smoking.
Is this another law Labour have brought in and not enforced? Like the mobile phone while driving which everyone continues to do.
Any thoughts?
Answers:
Where i live it is strictly enforced and people go round checking this the companies and shops will soon sort out the smokers after a couple of fines. After all unlike phones while driving, shops and companies are in there to make profit and after a bit of loss of money through carelessness they will soon pull their socks up!
I keep on seeing lorry drivers smoking in their cabs. i know several pubs which have smoking lock-ins.
I think we should all ignore the ban and refuse to pay the fines.
a) they can't chuck us all in prison
b) at least you can smoke in prison
Mmmm, I must say that where I live everyone seems to be taking the new law seriously, but if they did flought it I doubt anything would be done, the law is an ***.
It is so nice to be able to go into a pub/restaurant without breathing someone Else's smoke.
Yes, another flash in the pan law brought in as a knee-jerk reaction to the looney health PC brigade.
Well done Labour.
Yes it is and I'm glad. There is a bus top is town. Pretty much an open space I would say. Of course this stupid law says it is an enclosed space so no smoking. The fumes from the huge amount of traffic right next to the bus stop are much more harmful but there is no way they are going to try and cut down on the amount of cars on the road.
I'm angry.
please get a life.
i don't take any notice of this goverments laws.
To be fair clean air is a simple free right to all. Not for some idiot who smoke's to smoke next to you and leave you no option but to leave or breath what is basically pollution and a serious health hazard.
A load of my mates smoke and they all agree with the ban and every one seems to take it pretty seriously. Even that ex boxer, the bouncer in that club in Fulham who got shot for the law.
As for the mobile phone law some people are capable of driving on the phone whilst some are only just capable of driving but its still law and we should abide for the sake of all.
Laws can only be inforced , if it's the will of the people
