As a ret officer an have done this you have to form a trust in both,I have used toys like dolls a micky mouse watch to let the child know i am there to help him or her it takes time an a lot of patience you do not want to scare them,you just want them to tell you what was done to them but it nhas to be in a childs way like pointing where they was touched by useing the doll an who touched them there it is a very hard on the officer an the adult you just have to take it slow.
Interviews with sex crimes victims, are usually completed by a psychologist within the law enforcement community.
