firstly, dogfighting is ILLEGAL as it is a form of animal abuse. vick got everything he deserved: jail time, a ruined rep, and angry and dissapointed ex-fans. if you've seen pictures of those dogs and the aftermath from this horrific form of 'entertainment', in addition to the knowledge of the executions of the losing dogs he participated in, i don't think anyone would question his punishment...anyone with compassion that is. pro athletes are already GROSSLY overpaid. this is what vick chose to do with all his money?!SICK is what it is. i work at an animal hospital, and it is so sad to see how misunderstood and mistreated some pits can be, when in fact they can be very sweet, very loving dogs. at least this is one abusive kennel and dogfighting ring that has been shut down. unfortunately, there are many more.
michael vick should rot in jail for a long time for what he's done. and i don't think he's sorry for doing it. i think he's sorry he got caught.
if vick knew what was good for him, he would donate a lot of that 'hard-earned money' to dog shelters, pit bull rescues, and the humane society.
They are too light, he should be deported to the country of his ancestors.

When I was in high school my brother's friend brought over a video he had made of a dog fight in his trailer park. I watched it and almost puked (and I can watch Faces of Death and all that other gross crap). I'm sure Michael Vick's dog fights were a little more "sophisticated" than what was going on in some South Arkansas trailer park.
Dog fighting is sick. They take two animals and make them want to kill each other. They beat them and starve them. Then once they put the dogs together, the fight ain't over til one of them is dead. This is not a quick process. Even the victor is a mutilated mess when the other one finally gives up and stops breathing.
I think anyone that would hang, drown or electrocute any animal is evil. And to find fun in it is really evil. Dog fighting is a stupid and cruel game.
At the very least the man deserves a long prison term. Perhaps someone could then break his leg and make him fight to the death with one of his well trained dogs. People who mistreat children and animals deserve no human compassion. I do not believe that they can change and I would never trust them to do so.
Any time you take an animal that trusts you to do what is best for it and turn it into a killer YOU ARE THE KILLER. Dog fighting is wrong. Bull fighting is wrong. Animals should not be trained to inflict pain either on people or each other.
I think that dog-fighting is appalling. All of his cohorts should be in as much trouble as him also. With all that money, he could have found something, ANYTHING, better to do. What he did shows one hell of a cruel streak. Not to make an example of him but these guys get paid WAY too much for doing what they love...play FOOTBALL! Don't we all wish we could do what we love for money?
Based on him copping a plea deal, his lawyers knew they could not successfully defend him. Vick has perjured himself by lying to the public, his employer and the NFL. Hopefully the Judge is a animal lover and Vick gets a minimum of 2-3 years in prison. The NFL should impose a ban of at least the same time, not concurrent with his court sentence. Finally he should not be paid by his employer and Vick should forfeit his multi million signing bonus.
Since Roger Goodell became comish of the NFL he's attempting to invoke a morals clause among players, which I applaud him for that. Maybe one day the other commissioners will wake up and smell the coffee.
Animals should not be used in violent manners such as dog fighting, bird fighting, etc.
