Why do pro athletes get more leniency when they break the law?
I'm getting sick of hearing about "sports professionals" breaking the law and the majority of them being able to be let free or pay very little in damages or serving time. If we break these similar rules then our careers are usually seriously affected. The general public faces harsher penalties for the same crimes. Shouldn't it be the opposite? What do you think?
Answer:
More money, better lawyers, more leniency. I believe it is a law
;)
A lot of it is that these big shot can afford much better lawyers that we can...
Because they can afford the best lawyers.
One word: Money
SHUT THE F-UCK UP!!! you break the exact same law as a highly paid professional athlete. do you know where i am going...the cop advises you of your 5th amendment right and you admit the crime on video tape. not much your public defender can do for you. before an athlete is mirandized he has already told the cop he wants his expensive lawyer that is already on retainer. pay attention now...if you get arrested you already look guilty. talking to the cops confirms it. you actually look less guilty by remaining silent. i charge $225 per hour prep and four hundred per hour trial. and I never ever do pro bono work. you wanna get off you hire an expensive lawyer like me. what do you do if if a rich former Heisman trophy winner and NFL player kills your children and walks on double murder charges?. same answer!!
