Albert Joel

Answer:
Any public interest writ petition can be filled in a High Court or the Supreme court of India if it really for any public welfare at large & if there is no other provision/procedure left that has not been exhausted to get such relief from any other government agency for such public welfare. Gone are those days when every one use to approach the Higher courts for relief’s in the name of Public Interest but in reality their own interest was in at stake. Now on the instructions of the Supreme Court of India High courts make it a point to assess the admissibility of any such writ filed before it in the name of Public Interest based on the real intentions of the petitioner filling it before it. If there exist a real issue that has been ignored by the State or Central government that effects the general welfare of public at large & they fail to take necessary steps when complained to them by people like you then definitely these higher courts will intervene in the matter not other wise.
