Why are people such hypocrites when it comes to non smoking laws?
Honestly, can't smoke anywhere without offending someone, but it's okay for someone to be sneezing and hacking on an airplane, dont' see no non sick people laws. Or overweight and obese people lining up at drive thrus at 10 or 11 at night. don't see them getting rejected there or at dairy queens.
Answers:
Being sick is not voluntary and eating does not affect anyone else. Smoking indoors forces other people to inhale numerous toxic substances so you can get your fix.
No comparison with these things.
There is no way to enforce a "no sick people" law. There are germs everywhere, and many sick people are not obviously sick. Not to mention, a lot of people that are "hacking" are doing so because they are smokers.
Obesity doesn't hurt anyone but the obese person.
Secondhand smoke kills.
I hate smoking in public! The worst is when it's at a parade or baseball game and there's a bunch of kids around, just what they need.
And as a former drive thru worker, most of the obese people do not come through at 11pm, those are college/high school kids and 30 year olds that think they're still college/high school kids, most of whom on drugs or drunk. The obese make sure they come through and don't miss meals.
So, I'm pretty sure I'm not a hypocrite about non-smoking laws because I don't sneeze on people, or cough on them and I can't stand people that smoke. I'm not unreasonable about things, but smoking is something that shouldn't be tolerated and it is because people are weak and lazy and hypocritical.
