Has anyone ever successfully sued the fast food industry; and what did they get for what, thanks?
Answers:
As a Manager of a fast food store I was involved in a lawsuit--a customer stated he cut his moth on a piece of razor blade from his hamburger. I was very surprised at the # of expert witnesses that the fast food chain brought in to fight his claim.. So I think if someone did sue and it was a big chain they have little hope of winning. Unless they have the money to back it up.
Years ago, an old lady sued Mc Donald's because her coffee was too hot. She settled out of court for about 2 million.
I think it's unethical to sue them. If you're stupid enough to eat that stuff regularly, then you deserve to get fat and have health problems. Common sense.
2 girls sued Mcdonalds because "They're food made us fat!"
Some people also sued McDonalds for making their coffe too hot and both won.
What lunacy!
Remember the woman who sued McD's because she spilled very hot coffee in her lap while driving—millions..
Remember a few years back that lady who spilled McDonalds coffee in her lap, burned herself, and sued successfully. I don't remember how many millions she got, but I do recall that on appeal the amount she got was reduced considerably.
sure don't you remember the lady who sued micky d for the super hot coffee that burned her leg and got a bundle.. happens all the time -- most are settled out of court.
Do you remember the woman the sued Mc... when she spilled a hot cup of coffee on her lap and got burned DUH! She got millions.
The only successful one I've heard of is several years back this woman put a cup of hot McDonald's coffee in her lap and it spilled and burnt the sh*t out of her. I never found out how much she walked away w/ bur I know they put the "Caution Very Hot" logo on all their coffee cups because of it.
