American and British men: if you are healthy and of age, why haven't you volunteered to serve in the military?

If you aren't going to serve our nation as a soldier, airman, marine, or coast guard, have you considered becoming a policeman, fireman, federal agent, or postal worker? How about becoming a medic or working in the social services?

If you have chosen business, how do you support our troops? What have you done for them lately? What have you done for your country?

What is the duty of a man or woman for the nation? What is our duty for the world?

Answers:
Everybody can't serve in the military, or the police, or the fire department.
Being healthy isn't enough. You have to be good at what you do. A mechanic has to be good with his hands and a teamplayer, for example; he has to be a go-getter and take on some risk, and he has to have a sense of his limitations. If you can't make a good mechanic, you're a constant burden - someone everybody else has to look over, and spend extra time training.
And you have to be motivated. Nothing's worse than working with someone who doesn't wanna be there. And nothing makes you not wanna be there quicker than someone who doesn't wanna be there.
If you're not there by choice, you won't care to do a good job. This leads to more frequent unsafe conditions, with potentally dire consequences, to others and to multi-million $ aircraft or other property.

In short, if you're not bent on serving in the military, or the police, or the fire department, the best you can do is..do something else. And it is no less worthy.
It's a dangerous mentality, to think everybody should serve. It's a precept of freedom that you're able to chose what the **** you want to do with your life, even if it's nothing.

Because I don't want to die for the interests of a few rich people... not going to risk my life for the big oil companies profits...a shame our military is being used to make money for Halliburton's stock holders...
I do really support our troops it's just that I dont believe what we are fighting for is the right thing to do, I think we've made things worse for Iraq , not better
ever heard of peace on earth?
