A liberal and a conservative walk into a court room?

They both had a family member killed by a drunk driver.

One smokes pot and has loose sex.
The other is married and does no drugs and goes to church.

Which one wants to forgive the drunk driver and which one wants to have him executed?

Answers:
I do know people on both sides of the fence on that one.

If someone killed my family member I don't know how quick I would be to forgive him.

I guess if he ask for forgiveness and was sincerely apologetic I could forgive me.

If not then I let the court deal with him.

Question you posed who is more moral that is not what you want to ask you want to know who is going to follow your idea of what is moral in that courtroom.

I would have to ask did the drunk driver ask for forgiveness before I can answer that question honestly.

Neither should.

Drunk drivers are a menace to society.

Meanwhile - the 'drug free' conservative has been doctor shopping for prescription meds, and covering up his illicit affair with a local teen boy in order to keep from being shamed in front of his family and congregation.

Fortunately he can always repent, and go to a 'de-gaying camp' where he will be 're-oriented'.
My college roommate was killed in 2002 by a drunk driver on a Sunday afternoon.

It was a great experience to hear his wife testify that she had forgiven the person who had taken away her husband and the father of two beautiful girls. She basically said that we all do things in our life that we need forgiveness for. Some just seem larger and create more damage than others, and if God could forgive the young girl that did this, then she would forgive her too.

She wasn't saying that the young girl was innocent and shouldn't be prosecuted under the law. That was outside of her control as the DA will prosecute DUI homicides with or without the family. However, she did request leniency for the girl to minimize the damage that this situation would cause the young girl.
I'm a Conservative and I would want to see the offender tried and convicted to the fullest extent of the law if I lost a loved one.
The liberal would probably feel they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and it was their fault they were killed.
I can forgive anyone ,but you break the law or take a life
you are responsible for your actions and your fate.
