What would you do if a stranger entered your house without knocking on the door first?
i have just had this happened to me,so i phoned the police,was this the correct action to take ;

If a stranger enters your house without knocking you would be right to assume they were a burglar. One of the most common ways of committing burglary is by way of sneaking in through an unlocked door. If the burglar were challenged they would simply make an excuse and then make a quick exit.
When you contact the police you tell them that you have just disturbed a burglar in your house. They then dispatch officers as this would be graded an immediate incident.
I personally would detain the male on suspicion of burglary, but I would not advise others to do this due to the obvious dangers involved.
It is disappointing that officers never turned up. I would write and complain. The current problem is that as it is today we have to deal with all manner of incidents, 60% of which are not even police matters. Some people are so dysfunctional that we are called to sort their problems out for them. Where previously we could weed out the rubbish, now we have to attend and fill out a host of non important paperwork, all so the government can have some figures. This is a complete waste of time and is effecting the service given.
Like in the Sims 2?
nope bad move, your supposed to get a bat and wack the crap out of them!
I woulda kicked the sh*t outta them, and then called the police.
Yes. That is called a home invasion. They are trespassing and will be arrested.
Open fire and empty the clip.
yeah i'd probably shoot them and then call the cops
definitely! if you didnt know him, then he probably had no good reason for entering your house!
Phone the police ...
Hang up (so there's no recording)...
C0ck my gun ...
Aim ...
Yes, you absolutely did the right thing.
Yes - no one should walk in your home uninvited. (And from now on, lock the door!)
Give him a wedgie that not even Spock could endure!
nicer than shooting him and then calling 911.
I'd have baseball batted them back out my house, does no-one have any manners these days
Hopefully you locked yourself in a safe room first.
You took the correct action
Get out of the house, they now legally own it. It's an old legal loophole that I wish Congress would close.
I would imagine thats the right thing to do.a little scary though. Try locking your doors from now on.
I would pee my pants! That's so freakin' scary!!
You were absolutely right to call the police.
Just out of curiosity, why did the intruder...well, intrude?
i would definitely call the police!
I would have called the cops too. That's weird. If it was a mistake, the cops can sort it out. If it was on purpose, they'll sort it out just as well. Bottom line, this is a scary world we live in one can never be too careful.
I don't want to get in trouble with the community guidelines...but if someone came into my house i would have excersized my right to bear arms. You don't just walk into someone's house and not expect that
Calling the police would be done AFTER protection of my family is complete. My wife would call the police while I was beating the snot out of him, or shooting him if he is armed.
Have you any idea why? If it was the mentally confused person from next door, I don't suppose you should ring the police. If they're carrying a bag marked swag, then definitely dial 999/
yes tottally. i would. i would hide and hit him with a pan and nock him out then call the police and lock him in the house,
i would ask them to leave, if not make them leave using whatever method seemed appropiate and if not call the cops
well done .hope you did not panic in that situation.frightening i can imagine.out of curiosity ,what did he want?
yes i would chucked something at him screamed for the husband and kicked who ever in the family pack sort a speak
regards x kitti x
I would have told them to leave, then if they refused called the cops.
Restrain him, where ever he was found and call the Police.
He may be able to excuse his way out of this one, but chances are he's tried elsewhere already and the police are looking for him.
