Are the politicians responsible for the bridge collapse in Minn.?

The politicians allocate the money to take care of the infrastructure in there own states, the bridge in Minn. was not properly maintained, are the polititions responsible, and will and should the government be sued and be held responsible!??
I use to live in Minn., and have driven over that bridge numerous times. It's a scary thought.

Answers:
Every member of Congress and the Senate is responsible for our infrastructures and therefore are responsible for the bridge's failure. We should hold them all accountable and withhold their salaries until they actually do the jobs we're paying them to do. Take care of the USA first and then look elsewhere. If you don't take care of your own, how can you take care of someone else's? Let's get tough on our Legislatures at all levels and let's withhold the money they get paid until they do their jobs.

It's all the cars! If people wouldn't drive over the bridge it would still be there. Quit blaming Politicians - they weren't on the bridge! The cars were! It's the cars!!
Can't blame the politicians this time. The Bridge was inspected in 9/06 and deamed save for travel. It was due for another inspection this September. Inspections should be done after a long winter. Not before. Winter winds, snow ect can do a lot of harm and damage.
Wayne,
there are people who are hired to inspect these structures on a regular basis -- and engineers who sign off on the various procedures in a bridge's construction and maintainance --- these are the people that need to come under the microscope here !! Many of these people get unbelievable salaries to do a VERY important job (as we have just witnessed HOW important) -- and, if it wasn't done -- THEY-- not the people who allocated funds FOR the bridge are the ones --- that's like sueing the bank for loaning money for a car that someone uses while drunk and runs over some family !! It's not the banker's fault -- not the car's fault -- it's the fault of the jackass that got drunk and did the deed !!!

We've got the politicians on the hook for plenty enough already for the things they ARE directly responsible for -- let's not get into a feeding frenzy and try to hook them for things that they are NOT to blame for it will deminish our cause !
Unless the politicians took part in engineering the bridge they are clearly not at fault. Im sure George Bush will get blamed for this one anyway.
What about the workers who were in the middle of repairs when it fell?

Okay Joe, "Jack it up just a little bit more more"
