I heard a rumor that Melburne Cup day will be made a public holiday in the ACT (Canberra Australia), and I was told they were waiting on legislation to come through before it's made public. Where do I look on the web for legislation updates in Australia?

Proposed bills for the ACT can be found on the legislation register on the legislative assembly website: http://www.legassembly.act.gov.au/. Did a quick scan of bills presented this year, but there doesn't seem to be any dealing with an extra holiday (http://www.legislation.act.gov.au/b/annu... It may not yet have been presented yet.
