Ssi and child support?
MY KIDS LIVE WITH ME IN FLA THERE MOTHER MOVED TO GRAND RAPIDS MINNESOTA SHE IS ON SSI WILL THE COURT MAKE HER PAY CHILD SUPPORT AND SHE HAS A JOB DONT KNOW WHERE OR WHAT JUST SHE TOLD US SHE HAS ONE AND WILL THAY TAKE IT OUT OF HER SSI
Answers:
She will have to pay child support some how. There are benefits that you could get for your kids because their mom is on SSI , my cousin went thru this with her ex only he claimed that because she was getting SSI benefits because he was disabled he didn't have to pay child support. The court didn't buy it and so he was ordered to pay x amount, which he never paid but that's another story. IF your kids aren't receiving benefits already, go to your local SSI office with their birth certificates and SSI cards and the paperwork giving you custody and fill out the paperwork!
Man your lucky to get anything.
Yes, you have her general location. Call Child Support in that area and tell them the story. If she is supposed to pay, then make sure that she does.
I believe the system should work in favor of both men and women as both created the child.
Social Security Benefits can be offset for child support, Alimony, outstanding federal debts such as taxes, defaulted student loans.
