Florida laws?

What is the Florida law about becoming independent at age 16 and moving out. My Mom is always telling me to do my chores. Also I heard that when I get a car, I have to have a parent co sign until I'm 18. If I become independent at 16, does that mean I don't need a co sign. What are the laws about becoming independent? Any requirements?

Answers:
You become independent when you reach the age of majority or you are emancipated. In order for you to be emancipated in FL your parents must file the petition
