What can happen to the employees of a bar where one bartender serves a minor?

I live in New Orleans, LA and the establishment that i work at has one particular bartender who serves minors. I would like to know what can happen to me if the police come in and catch this act? And also who i can report this bartender to in the state of Louisiana?

Answers:
The law wont punish you for a crime commited by someone else.

The person selling the alcohol is very likely to be arrested on the spot and charged with selling alcohol to a minor (a serious offence) and he might get jail or probation plus a fine.

The bar is very likely to have its alcohol selling permit revoked until a full inverstigation is done so you and your friends are very likely to find themself jobless.

well my parents work at a bar and if they serve minors the bartender who served the minor could go to jail and the bar could loose their liquor license.
you are supporting serving minor when you are aware it is happening and do nothing the bar must have a liquor license displated see what agency gave the license and call them.
He is definitely wrong in doing this. I know in Illinois, when a bartender serves a minor, he can get ticketed and arrested, the manager is then ticketed, and the owner is also ticketed and risks losing his liquor license! You should check with your local law and ordinances. Call the police department (non-emergency number) and ask them the same question. If you don't want to name anyone, just tell them it's a hypothetical question. They will know the answer. Good luck to you.
The alcohol licensing agency can yank the bar's alcohol permit. The end result is that you can be out of a job due to lack of business. However, you have no criminal liability, if that's your concern.

Why don't you just tell the bar manager or proprietor?
Hi Trisha..If this bartender is serving minors and is caught then you should be ok legally. You weren't the bartender in question but he/she was. As long as you yourself aren't selling alcohol to minors then you have nothing to worry about. Now the establishment itself could be fined and possibly closed till the investigation is over but you yourself wouldn't be in trouble unless the police charge you for not 'speaking up' concerning the issue. If you want to report this bartender, I would suggest either the owner of the establishment or possibly the law enforcement of Louisiana. Good luck and take care!
