I suppose that detention in a home of some sort, payed by me and you is some form of it.
Extraction to Oz would be fine if I were guilty.
Sadly I have committed no crime, but would I be allowed out to buy some stuff from the shop ? Or would I need a government bod armed with a shopping list ?

It won't do any good. if the man has nowhere to go then there will not be any house arrest unless if he's locked up in jail.
